Well Kata is an organization, a group of shinobi with a single goal or similar goals. Clans are basically families, blood related. So basically, yeah, you can be part of both a clan and an organization. It's like, for example, you can be an Uchiha in the Akatsuki. Or an Uzumaki in the ANBU. Anyways, you get the point, added.
