General Discussion / Re: Shinobi Striker Hype??
« on: October 06, 2018, 23:10:50 »
Did those people bother to Check system requirements??
The game eats a lot of ram and processing power!!
My rig can barely Meet the minimum requirements but it runs it fine.

Anyway the game calls in to question the direction SLO should go in. It’s a arena mmorpg
Even thought the RPG elements are a week cop out of a real RPG system. But the game is designed to Grind out and unlock jutsu to use in the Arena, witch is exactly what a lot of people here wanted SLO to be.

I think it’s time to reconsider the MMORPG shinobi simulation idea.

It is not worth yet buying slo.
Check steam reviews , you wont be able to play multiplayer without lag , because players are the ones that host servers , has bugs and the "story" singleplayer mode isn't a story at all.
Even if you dont care about that and still want to try it , you can download the cracked version for free.
Are you talking about shinobi striker or SLO.
Shinobi striker is out and running smooth.
The story mode is week but the multiplayer match’s are smooth.

Introduction / Re: Back?
« on: September 25, 2018, 00:36:54 »

i was a active member on this back in 2015 but due to some bs, family issuse, legal shtuff i kinda fell off but maybe making my return :o
Welcome back!!
I’d love to get a early donators option on my chakra control thread. It was ever in-depth and eventually got most of the kinks worked out. But in the end it was too complicated for a arena/ammorpg game but now that shinobi striker beet us to the punch, maybe Vreg will reconsider the realistic mmorpg character Machanics.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Technique, mouvement..
« on: September 22, 2018, 23:12:26 »
I agree the fire breath jutsu’s direction should be mouse directional- however only at a 80 degree angle in front of your current front facing position, and your movement caped at 5.8 mph. This way the target fan still get out of range but It will feel like you have more control over the flame direction. But they need to fix the targeting and look vertical before that.

We need to talk about shinobi striker as a game type and it’s effect it has moving forward with SLO! As a arena action game it’s brilliant! It made all the right choices in character customizing and balanced combat while I would have liked to see more accessible cosmetic customization.
However we need to avoid most of this stuff in SLO. SLO will never compete with shinobi striker as an arena action game. So we need to scrap the ELO ranking idea and just focus on the open world RPG elements of the game.
This is what shinobi striker is lacking In.
There is a master trainer system in place to unlock new jutsu and stuff but it’s not a open world to play in.
And frankly the trainer system is kinda week in shinobi striker.

SLO has the opportunity to forge new ground with a realistic experience based chakra system.
Something no other game has ever done.

Where levels mean absolutely nothing except to rate the difficulty and chakra consumption of Jutsu.

With a crafting system that rivals black desert online, or any other MMORPG.

With a world of contractable animals that can be played as races or be summoned as AI support.

With player driven missions and instances boss fights requiring teamwork and tactical choices.

Because one thing is certain, SLO as an aarpg Can not compete  with shinobi striker. They have done that already and it’s good and will only get better with new updates of jutsu and missions.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Kenjutsu suggestion
« on: September 09, 2018, 22:40:11 »
Who said you can’t master every weapon? You can balance it by making jutsu and weapons amune to 1 spacific tree making full reliance on any one tree a gamble.

Can you deal with 95% of what ever comes your way if you focus only on bukijutsu! Sure!!
But you run the risk of running in to that 5%of people like gaura in the anime that are effectively amune to it.

This works the other way as well with equipment like samahada sharkskin.

Tajiutsu that observe chakra and telapotatuon jutsu to keep players in close combat.

Genjutsu that sap a character’s chakra and stun there movement

These effects help balance the game. And if you choose to specialize in something you’ll have to come up with a strategy to deal with the problematic effects to your type.

The hitboxes are already relatively small and difficult to hit, especially when both parties get in close and are determined (for some reason) to not be shanked - and given that Kenjutsu will be largely Combo-based, I think it's safe to assume that it won't be lacking in terms of tactical complexity. At most, freedom of movement should be incentivized further when making your attacks, as the current demo shows that being too flashy/anime in execution will easily leave you wide open to counters.

The bigger problem lies in how it'll end up fitting into the overall Tempo of combat, making it too slow or too fast could leave it staggeringly far ahead or behind the competition, and this is compounded by the fact that...unfortunately, Kenjutsu is a bit of a one-trick-pony in a game like this; You either get in close and overwhelm your opponent with pressure, or you die - simple as that. It's going to be very difficult balancing the damage, timing and distance with such limited design space, and I highly doubt anyone is going to be able to go strictly Kenjutsu. More than likely, it'll end up being used as an opener or finisher, tying into Jutsus rather than directly opposing them; If we looked at it more as a sidearm than a primary method of combat, it could probably find a nice little niche - hell, even more so if it was designed to take less resources than other Jutsu, thereby ensuring its place as a reliable last-resort.

This could even take on a sort of Magikarp-like role, being weaker than most in the beginning, but transforming into a very powerful high-end style if supported with ample physical training and chakra control for the appropriate levels of speed and damage/jutsu-disruption - I think it ending up as the Gyarados of SLO could be pretty cool.
yes kenjutsu=sword combat is by definition a one trick pony but as a bigger catagory of bukiujutsu it is a skill tree within its self. However for it to be a viable combat system your long and short range weapons would by  necessity require at least some  proficiency in fuinjutsu summoning and sealing. Trap tags, chain and kuni, for long range  stun/damage,
Mid range weapons like bo staff/spear, and long sword could have thrust and mid range linear and aoe effects, and katana and short sword for close range. But the change from one to the other would need to be seamless, or have knock down, push back or stun effects long enough for the change to happen.

however i think Weapons could be extreamly strong where 2 or 3 good hits form a long sword or somthing might kill you. but movement spead and Jutsu usage should be extreamly limited

This kind of combat works against AI. But would be clunky against other people. And at most you only ever take on 2-3 AI opponents with no support from a squad! There’s very little room for team play in this type of combat system.
If you were a kenjutsu user that had to play this way in SLO by yourself, you would be slaughtered by ranged ninjutsu and Defense ninjutsu.
At most I think a critical damage box should be available but only targetable under certain conditions.
I’m not saying that kenjutsu should be hack and slash!!  Far from it!! But kenjutsu attacks should have stun and pushback end hits to there combos. Combined with a realistic chakra and stamina system, and jutsu like substation and body flicker/teleportation. Kenjutsu could be competitive.

Some of the benifits of races like this is the training of goods and services exclusive to the race you are part of. For examples humans have weapons, animals have poisons and venoms, or specialized Taijutsu, genjutsu, or sensory skills, depending on the animals we deside on. Ninjutsu Fuinjutsu and basic taijutsu and genjutsu would still be common to all races. But Kenjutsu would be exclusively human until they train a summon character, and advanced genjutsu and Taijutsu would be exclusively animal until they train a human or other animal summon.(i suppose animals could summon another animal, why not)

Shinobi Life Online Questions / Re: Hidden Hill Petshop
« on: August 23, 2018, 14:03:21 »
It's the Maindo Clan's small business
It's all about the pets im thinking about
Where will we get the pets?
Around the corner?Feral or stray?
Do the clan still need to tend to them while still not being sold like feeding it and others?
Will their be like a small virtual pet thing for your pets like care, feed, play?
I'm asking cause it's my clan's way earn money without risking your life(Well a bit not to mention....snakes)

If my post about character diversity and summoning is excepted your pet shop could sponsor D-C ranked missions to capture animals from these villages as pets. Owning one of these pets might even serve as a requirement to get access to jutsu from the animal village your pet is from with out becoming a target of the village. This would create demand for your shop. This is because when they buy a pet from you they can return it to there village in train for jutsu. This is a lot easier way to gain there trust then traveling to there village and grinding out missions for them to earn there trust.
However excepting these missions might prohibit you from traveling to the village ever again. You would become a bingo book target for that village.

As for the not risking your life bit. Sorry that’s not part of the game. Your clan would become prime targets for every animal village in SLO.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Character diversity/summoning
« on: August 22, 2018, 23:18:14 »
This idea is kinda a huge change of what is planned as far as villages go and will likely effect other things like village legacy jutsu, but I think it would be cool!

So what if ninja animals were playable character options like races In other mmorpg’s.
Play as a ninja frog, hound, snake, bird cat, monkey, etc.
we take a vote as to the top 5 animals and we make 5 of the 11 villages ninja animal villages.
In this way players will learn things like nature energy and sage mode from other players in these villages. These animals would likely be  anthropomorphized towards the human side so the character skills and stats don’t need to change to much. Summoning could work as a request to summon when a player is online and a AI replacement of your character when you are offline. The summoning works both ways so we could even allow any experience gained by your AI controlled character while your offline to count when you log back in.

Ps. If this idea is adopted it will likely not happen at launch. Each village and character options could be its own expansion. This is good for 3 reasons.
1 it cuts the number of villages needed at launch in half (almost).
2 new content after launch will keep people interested.
3 asset reductions. I’m not a modeler but I would imagine that there are a lot less assets needed to customize a character avatar then to build a city!! Since there animal village all you would need is a geographical isolated environment with a couple of caves and streams. No buildings required. At most a couple of sheds.
Although I have to say a monkey city akin to Grods gorilla city would be really cool!!

General Discussion / Shinobi Striker Hype??
« on: August 05, 2018, 16:03:28 »
Is anyone else planning on trying out shinobi striker?

It is a arena action game with open world mmo elements but only as a way to train jutsu to use In the arena.

It is mostly cartoony animation like the storm games but looks like it has more strategy then a brawler!! It also has Summoning jutsu Confermerd!! They will be AI AOE gaurds, some with high impact damage, others with effect damage.

It looks like it could be fun!! If any of my clan memebers want to play, I’ll find you by your clan characters name in game.

@Jamezoar don’t get too excited it was just a estimate based on how long it’s taken to get hidden hill finished. It’s in no way garented by 2058 and in fact may never be complete but eventually it will meet AAA standers for games.... eventually!!
