As for why a book?? Have ever played a game of telephone?? If you think the odds of  translations being wrong now  imagine if it wasn't even written down!!

That'd be fun hehe but I was saying he could have written it down himself or showed up and actually do stuff, instead of giving vague signals to prophets and appearing in dreams or asking people to sacrifice their children and chicken out at the last minute.

There's math that proves gravity exists, and I believe there's math that proves god exists.

Never heard of math that proves god exists. One of the cool things about science is that something only gets proven if you can test it irl, for instance by using the maths F=G*(m1*m2)/r^2 I can prove that the earth will be back at the current position in relation to the sun exactly 1 year from now. I don't see how you can use an equation and test it to prove god exists... Never heard of it before but if you know something about it, by all means show it, I'll change my mind if there's actual evidence to support it.

There is nothing in my life that has not bin improved by fallowing what the Bible says. And every time I have ignored a  warning spelled out in that book I have suffered for it.

Sure, every person that drinks water eventually dies therefore water kills... There's absolutely no causality in your argument and wouldn't explain the ~50% of non-christians/islamics around the world that are doing just fine. Me included.

kakashi could've persuaded him probz as well since he had done that before.

This is where I think the anime lacks a lot, so many things could have been prevented if people acted as they usually do but for some reason when they're needed the most they are just passive. Looking at kakashi in this situation, sakura in most others, when naruto was going against pain the entire village apart from hinata just stood there watching, etc. Sometimes it feels like some main characters don't do anything so that shit happens and we get more episodes.

@NinjaMirage Given your age (I'll assume you're being honest) and your knowledge on biblical passages I'd say you're pretty much set on your beliefs, so I won't push this much further.

So if you can see spacific examples of scientific truth that people in the time the Bible was written could not possible know, would that count as a signature??

No, Nostradamus did that, got somethings right other wrong but he used to write in such vague terms that really it wouldn't be hard to fit some actual events to his predictions. Same goes with the bible.
Plus just because we don't know how they could have known that doesn't mean it was god that told them that. Really if an almighty being wants to say something why would he use one chosen individual at a time to pass on his message into a book?

Adam and Eve never lived btw, I hope you're not taking that story literally.

Also he isn't not ALL forgiving!!!  He is all loving and dose not want anyone to die. But the Bible talks about unforgettable sins. HIs justice won't allow these sins to go unpunished. However death is the wages of all sin so you could say we are all on death row. The good news is someone  bailed us out and all they ask is we get to know them and believe in that gift.

I honestly don't even know where to start...

@Konohuro Shhh mate I was winning that argument! I do have background knowledge but there's no way anyone can prove or disprove any of this because we're all pixels in our screens. I honestly have though. Keep in mind things might be different for smaller or bigger companies and across countries but generally speaking the CEO has to authorize most of the paperwork, sometimes via other people but at least the most important documents get his signature.

@NinjaMirage As a CEO I'd have to review the entire manual and then sign it. I don't remember any signature in the bible from any deity. All I see is people writing that god spoke to them this or that way and their interpretation of it. Don't even know who chose those writers anyway.
I don't think god would be so careful to make sure his writers would get the bible correct across the ages and across languages but then only publish it a couple of thousands of years ago when we exist for millennia before that. Or that he'd overlook countless examples of misuse of religion and power across time. Or that I can remember a thousand different better ways of making a more obvious and objective standpoint so people could choose to follow that doctrine instead of leaving it not only to the interpretations of the writers but also to the interpretation of the translators, language itself and the readers. Or that there's literally hundreds of other religions with very similar layout and also a sacred book with rules and doctrines. What makes this one so special?

If he exists it wouldn't be any different than our relationship with sims on a much more massive scale. But whether that's the case or not I can disagree with him and if he doesn't accept that then he's only proving that he's not all forgiving after all.

And good men die and are forgotten in time. Just like evil men and questionable men do. Cunning men on the other hand seem to have more chances to be remembered though. In fact I could argue that there's way more evil men remembered through history than righteous men. But again you can understand "live forever on it [the earth]" in a lot of different ways so really everyone is right and therefore the premise is wrong...
Also not very keen to accept promises from books that present 0 rational/scientific evidences whatsoever.

@NinjaMirage Glad you don't use that pseudo-argument. However saying "if it seems to contradict itself it's because the reader is reading it wrong" is equally false. Whenever something can be used to justify any and everything you can safely assume it's a false argument.
Plus the bible was supposedly written along ages and by many men, I never really understood why people say it's the word of god when it was written by people. Therefore I don't see why it can't contradict itself.
Not just that it was also written in arabic, then translated to latin, then old english and only then modern english... Lots of meanings were lost in these translations, no matter how hard you try there are words that you just can't translate correctly. Have you ever read an original piece by Shakespeare? Some passages are already unreadable by modern English and that was only 500 years ago.

Regardless, my english semantics "bible" is the oxford dictionary and it says I'm correct about faith, sorry: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/faith

But I was wrong about belief, it seems that faith is simply a specific case of belief. I wonder what's the word for "An acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one with proof"

Just a small comment, since many of you seem to not be accepting the close-to-0 chance everything happened by chance, keep in mind in our universe there's an almost endless supply of possibilities (literally trillions of them just in our galaxy cluster alone today) ergo if something has even 0.0000001% chance of happening it probably did because 0.0000001%*10^9=100%. Kinda like the fermi paradox but applied to us.

However I do find this thread cancerous since whatever I say can be countered by the "god works in mysterious ways" fallacy when a god-fearing person decides he can't counter argument me so I'll refrain from participating too much in this pseudo-debate.

Also let's keep the semantics correct, faith =/= belief. Faith is blindly believing in something regardless of its logic whereas belief is accepting something based on reason and logic. Example: I have faith I'll pass my exam next week, I believe I'm gonna fail big time.
I believe DarthTyrael believes in evolution, not that he has faith in it like Ninja asked.

@adithya Damn you really got stuck at the word Indian did you? It's clear now that the more I try to explain, the more things you find for me to explain, pretty shitposting-ish if you ask me, so before we're both writing walls of text again I'll stop, for everyone else's sake...right after this post (damn it, can't control myself). Feel free to pm me though

I said "melancholic indian teenager" for 2 reasons, I was hoping you'd get at least one of them. 1st a more specific idea, no matter if it's relevant, makes people sound smarter and 2nd shows that I took time to look up your profile, that's how strongly I felt about the argument, much like the guy that created an account just to shitpost. One may argue he didn't shitpost, he just felt so strongly about not reading your post that he actually took the effort to create an account just to let you know but whatevs, digressing again.

I've answered you on pretty much everything else. The culture thingy, again, your thoughts on sadness might be relevant to you or to someone within your culture but are completely and utterly useless to pretty much everyone else here (see what I did there again with the 2 synonyms?). Everyone experiences a personal feeling such as sadness in its own way, that goes double if they come from different cultures which you don't know about since we're all just pixels on computer screens, goes quadruple if they're different ages and goes infinitely more if people don't even try to be honest. So yeah what I'm trying to say is in such personal matters what's right/makes sense for you (aka thought) doesn't necessarily make sense for someone else ergo pointless post.

@DarthTyrael FINALLY, someone that understands me and writes :D As for 2. ofc what I said doesn't apply to teens with actual problems, but those people know what their problems are, they don't write in pre-game forums "I'm sad, idk why though", that's pretty much the definition of weird hormonal behavior. That is assuming he's not hiding anything ofc, then again if he is then the whole post loses sense again.
I'm usually more gentle with these matters but when someone feels so strongly about something virtual you should cut it off asap, create that shock feeling so he thinks twice before wasting that much time and effort ya' know.

@adithya  That's a pretty childish response, resorting half of your post to making fun of my words and the other half triggering because I said "Indian teenager" and talked about different cultures... You could have done all that in just a couple of paragraphs easy with proper arguments...

I'm starting to find it upsetting that I need to justify every single word in my posts here.

You posted saying you're sad for no reason at all and don't want help from anyone here, good for you, but it's still a cry for help no matter what you tell yourself and guess what fuels that? Are you upset that we humans are that basic that a simple hormonal change (read chemical reaction) can shape our feelings? Well too bad, we are those chemical reactions. Robots ran by chemistry instead of electricity. Teenagers are just more prone to said hormonal changes that mess up their feelings for biological reasons that I don't wish to discuss. But I digress.
You wanted a train of thoughts, I gave you my thought on the matter on the very first post, you might not like it but you can't really complain.

As for getting triggered about culture thingy, have you ever set foot off India? I'm not being racist, just realistic, if I have a social problem in Portugal I know exactly how to act and which options I have but if I go to Germany for instance things are a bit different, even more in Japan or India.
So yeah you'll get a soup of "thoughts", each maybe making sense in one culture but being completely rubbish in another and that's assuming everyone here is the same age which they aren't and answers honestly which they don't, hence rendering all the effort you took writing that wall of text pointless.

No way I'm reading all of this

I didn't really ask anyone to .-. I just posted this here in case someone was feeling the same way I was and didn't want to feel alone. And, you'd rather take the time to comment on this post, saying something that adds literally nothing to the post?

Why?

I seriously want to know.

Because you need to realize that this is a community for a game that didn't even came out yet, not a psychology center for melancholic Indian teenagers. Don't expect people to read a book on why you're felling down this week, why would I or anyone want to do that? Empathy? A teenager on the other side of the world is feeling sad, how original! Surely I'll take my time to answer!
Wanna bounce ideas? Friends are a much more realistic way of doing it, things written here might sound really logical but nothing assures you they'll work irl or even in your culture whatever it may be. If you don't have friends go do something, get into a sport or a book club or anything and talk to people.

I'm not saying that we should only post about SLO here, but this is exactly what almost every teenager in the world goes through sooner or later (hormones say hi) and if we all came advertising our problems online this forum would be flooded with these stories.

That's why I took my time answering, so that 1st you or anyone reading this wouldn't make the same mistake again and 2nd so you wouldn't expect anyone to give you the answer to your problems, especially not on a community in which the avg age is probably 15...and is a community around what's basically a life simulation in a different universe, everyone here is in a way trying to escape their own lives already....

If you got personal problems either deal with them, look for help IRL (friends, family, etc) or what a movie/series. Don't stand idle in front of a pc looking for help from strangers.

PS: Re-reading my post it might seem like I'm mad, but I'm quite chill, some things just need to be said without filters...

@Diamond Lee You're right, this escalated way more than I expected, my post kinda started it and for that I apologize. Then again it's not like we have much else to do here and I don't really care about relationships on a forum of an unfinished game.

Sure, my bad. Some people are getting annoyed over a nonsensical choice of font size but hey no rules broken so keep it up right? In fact I don't get annoyed by this so much I'm even gonna encourage it.
Because this is very mature right?

Sorry guys but imo if one person purposely does something that annoys other people (stress on the plural form) for whatever reason and can prevent it at no cost then I don't see why anyone would encourage that behavior, even if I don't get annoyed by it. But hey that's just me  ::)
Also, it's one thing to make fun of it like Mars' been doing which is totally fine imo, quite another to defend it blindly only because it isn't annoying for some people.

How can someone using large text annoy you? Remi doesn't care about minor things like these as they're not a big deal, how on earth will that make him a bad kage. Stop getting triggered by everything and being so supercilious @StriderOtaku @Blazefp

Because it fills up most of the screen on my phone and makes me switch lines every 2nd word. More scrolling and higher chance of missing a line. Plus I keep reading it as someone is screaming at me which is annoying by itself.

His personal opinion on these quarrels is exactly part of the work of a kage, solving disputes from the people that don't really go against any law. His reaction was quite self explanatory on that end and didn't solve anything. But yeah I was overstating on purpose, this doesn't mean he'll be a terrible kage, just that imo he should listen to everyone before discarding a "problem"

the way you seek for attention is rather repulsive. Grow up.
Who cares?
If he chooses to write that big then that is his choice there are no rules against that...

Sure because if someone is annoying everyone else for no reason but it's still within the rules we should just sit back and mind our own business.
You're gonna be a great kage Remi
