Title: Apprentice system.
Post by: MadaraS on August 17, 2014, 22:25:47
Is there going to be an apprentice system? Vreg said that if someone is to find him in the game, and request to be his apprentice, he will allow me. But what does it mean to be an apprentice? I hope it isn't just following the other person around because then, it wouldn't be worth going all over the ninja work in search for Vreg.

It would be good if the student could learn the master's element if he is an apprentice. What are your ideas?

maybe or most likely you could be able to teach someone jutsu so that they could do it themselves. that way the whole teacher and student thing can go into play.

I like that idea. Then you could be like Jiraya  :P

Yeah, it'd also be cool if you could learn one basic jutsu of any of the 5 main elements from a teacher, regardless of your own affinities.

I like this idea. But the version of your teacher's moves would have to be unbelievably weak. Like in the ninja war when the entire shinobi force learns an earth move instantly

Perhaps if the jutsu in question was directly against one of your affinities, it could be weaker then normal. But not necessarily unbelievably weak... Maybe to make it fair we could have it take longer to develop, to make it more fair.

i dont think having a jutsu of other nature then ur own is a good idea. vreg said he would make it as realistic as possible (or something along those lines) so i personally dont see someone with water/fire use an earth jutsu. its illogical and even in the anime they cant learn a jutsu other then their own styles.

well i agree with cap but then its best to have a teacher and not forced to have the same nature as they do just to learn a move tht ur teacher can only teach u...

An apprentice system has already been talked about, so it will/most likely will be implemented into the game.
HOWEVER, if you have the chakra natures of Fire and Earth, you won't be able to learn a wind-chakra'd jutsu.
You will NEED to have the chakra nature required to learn a jutsu. I cannot see a system where thousands of ninja will be able to use a weak jutsu of a different chakra nature.

tl;dr Apprentice system will be in, but you can't learn a jutsu if it requires a chakra nature you don't have. It ain't happenin' cause it's illogical.

If it is so illogical, then tell me how Kakashi (for example) was able to do a water style jutsu when he has a lightning type chakra.

He cant learn em on his own, he copies them with his sharingan. if he didnt have his sharingan he would have sticked to his original chakra natures.

^ this exactly. Kakashi is called "Kakashi of the Copy Wheel Eye", aka the Sharingan. Without it, he wouldn't be able to use any of the jutsus that are not of his chakra nature.

So yea, it is very illogical because in Shinobi Life Online/SLO, there won't be a Sharingan, in fact, the only visual prowess in the game will be the one used by Vreg.

I won't have the only visual prowess, there will be KG similar to stuff like Byakugan and Sharingan.

Also I never said I would accept you if you found me, I said only then I might (A VERY BIG MIGHT) CONSIDER your request.

Finally, an apprentice system would allow a teacher to pass jutsu onto his apprentice, without his apprentice having to find scrolls for them. This is limited to his apprentice's level of skill and chakra natures of course.

Maybe a teacher could train with their apprentice and when the teacher got xp the apprentice would get a fraction

i dont think thts a good idea since its not like they r in a party then its just like the apprentice should just kick back and rest whilst the teacher does all the work farming exp on higher lvl mobs and causing the low student to level up faster not working to hone their skills

hmm yeah. I guess it could work if the apprentice got xp according to how much damage they did. But my idea was flawed from the start

There is no "xp" to get, unless you're talking about the teacher giving advice or something. The only way to grow in the game is to train yourself, just like in the real world. People don't become Martial Art Masters by just hanging around another master.

But don't you think it would be cool to have a master to teach you stuff? Maybe it could be an alternate way to train; by sparring with your master.

thats just like sparring with your friend, a master in Shinobi Life Online is only good for learning new jutsu (of ur respective chakra nature, ofc) or having some1 to look up to. thats really all there is to it with having a master imo.
