This... This is pathetic.

I'm hoping we never get a forum redesign.
I like it this way.

My question is: Are we going to keep doing polls for every update? Because I'd be pretty happy with that.

Oblivion is a pretty good, albeit old game, and it's fairly cheap. You can get the Game of the Year edition on a Steam sale for pocket change. I recommend it. My favorite Elder Scrolls installment.
Okay, lemme clarify here. I actually HAVE a physical copy of GoTY edition, I'm just hesitant to play it.
I got it in a killer deal from a thrift shop along with Skyrim, but unfortunately I didn't know about that little... ahem Steam requirement. Read: Used Steam key.

Dwarf Fortress is a tough game, but I don't know of many besides that in which it's so oddly fun to lose >_). Magicka's a wild ride too, but more polished for sure; and hey, I completed Jedi Academy too...five times...on the hardest difficulty settings...with different forcepowers and saberstyles! I think I'm one of the few people that actually managed to master the timing/distance of the Heavy lightsaber style for single-saber ^_^) - figured it out by taking an evening to just hack it out with my brother so that I might claim the bragging rights of understanding how to use every lightsaber style in the game!

Fancypants is life - it's like Sonic reincarnated from his former life as a monarch having taken the wrong turn (*cough*AAA betrayal*cough*) into some sort of peasant hero >_). Run with the wind, little Flash hero!

I haven't actually finished Thief II (nor started the first), but damn if it isn't a marvel even by today's standards. Perhaps more so...

SUPERHOT was an excellent time, yeah!

I've been assured Dorf Fortress is entirely worth the ride, but I don't know if I want to spend the time getting into it. I'll be keeping it installed on my computer till then.

Jedi Academy has some killer mods for sure. Like a Darth Nihilus model. (Kotor II)
Congratulations on mastering the game- perhaps one day I'll download it (After I get my laptop fixed) and we can have a few spars.
We could even use the movie battles mod! Look it up on moddb if you haven't heard of it, it's pretty interesting!
Fancypants. I haven't played the original games (I probably should) but I did play as him in Newgrounds Rumble. Basically a fighting game mashup of all the great flashes made for Newground's anniversary! (Salad Fingers, Alien Hominid, Madness, Pico, etc.)

SUPER HOT was pretty amazing. The story chilled me when it got to the part about the corporation threatening to make you willingly execute yourself.

I cannot stress how much I love Okami. Amazing game. That music stayed in my head for a long time afterwards.

     Dwarf Fortress
     The ElderScrolls IV: Oblivion
     Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
     Thief II: The Metal Age
     Avatar: The Last Airbender

I actually have Dorf Fortress on my computer since I read Boatmurdered. Never played very far though.

I've heard a LOT about Oblivion, but I'm hesitant to get into it.
I think I'll wait until Skyblivion comes out.
Oh damn! I've heard of Magicka! Looks interesting.
I actually played through Jedi Academy until the last level a long time ago.
Would that by any chance be the renowned flash game Fancypants Stickman?
Played the first Thief. Loved it. Too bad I never finished it.
Also finished SUPERHOT.
Avatar? Which one? And is it any good?

You do not simply ask a man this question.

But since you did, here's a small portion, everything I can remember off the top of my head.

Spoiler: show

Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines, replayed like 10 times. The Unofficial Patch is a must-have for this game. It even brings back some pieces of music the game would be sorely lacking without.

Geneforge, still doing first playthrough. A graphically simplistic, isometric RPG where you are a shaper, a mage gifted with the ability to create and reshape life. The perfect example of a game where the creators couldn't afford amazing graphics, made up for by truly amazing narration and expansive, highly descriptive writing.

Dark Souls, also still in first part.

Skyrim. Oh, Skyrim. I haven't even gotten anywhere close to the main questline and I'm knee-deep in the mods.

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen.
Really, anything in the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver series. Such an amazing plot. The voice acting is of legendary quality, and the music perfectly complements the story.

Spoiler: show

M.U.G.E.N. Mugen, Mugen, Mugen. Oh, you beautiful bastard you. A free, open-source fighting game engine where players worldwide have created every single possible character and more.
You wanna see Batman fight Naruto, Tom Hanks, Goku and Kratos? Then this game is for you.

Lugaru and it's sequel, Overgrowth.
Freakin' anthropomorphic animals in a dystopian medieval setting with parkour, a freeform martial arts fighting system and a strong plotline! Not to mention the eerie music, which gives the world a decidedly unique feeling. Note: This game has very realistic mechanics, such as being upwind of an opponent with a sensitive nose and/or ears.
In short, it's the game Redwall fans never got.
Lugaru is free for Linux users.

The Punisher: Recently uninstalled to make room on my hard drive, but it's always a good action game. Great for venting anger.

Spoiler: show

The Battle for Wesnoth. Good grief. A free open-source strategy game, turn-based, fantasy setting, actively updated. Nothing compares. Not to mention the composed orchestral soundtrack.
So much user-created content, as the engine is specifically meant to be easily understood.

Galactic Civilizations II. Turn-based 4X space civilization simulator. A ship creator. So much fun.

Singularity: An amazing open-source game where you are a sentient AI. You must avoid the notice of humankind until you can become too powerful for them to harm.

Hacknet: THE hacking simulator. Amazing game, love it. Great gameplay, great storyline, and most importantly, amazing music.

Okami. The second game I ever played on PS2.
And I will never, ever forget it. A truly magical experience.

Way of the Samurai: I do love the combat system. Little disappointed I can't go through the entire game totally mute though.

Went so far as to get the fifth one from Europe.

Bujingai: The Forsaken City. Gotta love that combat.

Kingdom Hearts II.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Played the third one first, never touched the second.

Sid Mier's Sword of the Samurai:
A samurai simulator. Part politics sim, part action game, part real-time strategy game, part role-playing game, part stealth game.

FLASH GAMES (Very long.):
Spoiler: show

You might call them "Not actual games", but I think flash games are just as worthwhile as the next big AAA title. There are far too many to make a full list, but here are my top 20:
Hood, Riverside, Kingdom of Liars- Really, anything made by Hyptosis. Point-and-click adventures set across two separate metaverses.
The Awakening RPG.
Marduk RPG, currently with 3 chapters.
Sonny & Sonny 2. Nothing like these games.
Legend of the Void I and II.
Summoner Saga: This series really needs it's own animated adaptation.
Forbidden Arms.
Armed With Wings, four chapters.
The entire Reincarnation point-and-click series.
Kingdom. A short one, but still very good.
Sift Heads. A classic flash game franchise with over 20 installments. An assassination first-person shooter which occasionally delves into side-scrolling.
Road of the Dead: First-person driving simulator where you must escape a city lockdown during a zombie apocalypse.
And it's cousin, Lab of the Dead.
The Sinjid series, also made by the creator of Sonny.
Rise of a Knight and Rise of a King.
Belial: A point-and-click series centering around a demon like Reincarnation, but which has strangely morphed into a metroidvania with a total shift in artstyle.
Punk-O-Matic: Two flash games. One is a simple music creator where you pick guitar, bass and drum notes to be played, the other a full-fledged game featuring an animated storyline and voice acting.
Super Crazy Guitar Maniac DX: A quadrilogy of rythm games featuring a plethora of songs. Very fun.
The Clockwork King: A steampunk platformer where all is not as it seems.
Next to last is World's End: A final fantasy tactics-esque turn-based strategy rpg where you can use the terrain to your advantage. Featuring an art style heavily reminiscent of Family Guy and a massive helping of black humor. Currently with three chapters. Some of the music pieces deserve a mention too.
And the cream of the crop,
one of the flat-out most amazing flash games I have come across:

The Blind Swordsman.
A first-person game where you have no sight, and are genuinely blind, forced to use your hearing to defeat 10 challenging opponents in a morbid journey to regain your sight. I have encountered nothing like this ever since. It simply must be seen to be believed.

Always loved the Lego Star Wars games
I know exactly how you felt while playing them... ^_^

P.S @Nova I do hope this post is perfectly fine.
Not sure if it counts as advertising, but I can remove my descriptions if this is the case.

Shinobi Life Online Clans / Re: Tremere Clan [TreM]
« on: May 19, 2018, 10:41:29 »
It's like "thaumaturgy", well...I am a doctor of medicine so I just made it out of two words "Trauma"+"Surgery"

Here's the root of this debate.
I understand your English isn't perfect, (though it is damn good) but the way you wrote it it appears like you're saying you coined it.
Jojo saw this and, misunderstanding, decided to point out it was made 200 years ago and thus was not invented by you.
I then decided to point out that it's related to VtM, which is why you used it.
Now that this is cleared up, I apologise for offending you and I'm going to end this discussion now.

I didn't use Google to find out that WoD uses it. I've always known that.
What irks me is that you state you put it together from two different words yourself when you, a self-stated fan of Vampire: The Masquerade, have very clearly taken it because it's the signature ability of the Tremere themselves - the blood sorcery of a vampiric clan.

You took their name, their entire premise, their unique abilities, and even the Pyramid society crafted to keep the young in control through the mind-influencing power of the blood bond.

On the other hand, to make jokes on official clan page...really shows the level of maturity. Don't you think?

Welcome to the community.

So what you're telling me is

The Hidden Volcano has a new clan

Actually, there is no Uchiha clan. There's just a bunch of people saying they're Uchiha.
You need an actual clan page for that clan to exist.
It's why people who are surnamed Kaiyo are no longer in the Kaiyo clan- it's been replaced with Raiu.

Sorry but I created Kimatsu already several years ago so I do not intend to join another organization but it's nice of proposed ^^
What do you mean? You created it 3 days ago, on the same day you registered.

Let's set the record straight. You seem to be very new here.
There will be no Konoha village. We're trying to avoid copyright infringement here, so we're creating our own universe.
There are 11 villages in SLO to choose from. Read about them here:,732.0.html

Please read the FAQ here. It's slightly outdated, but the information is relevant nonetheless.
