8Bit music always brings a smile to my face. Do you plan on using it for anything?

I just make musics to pass the time while working on things. I could use them for a demoreel.

Hey, dude. Just wanted to recommend you to Stan Prokopenko. I've been monitoring your thread and it most definitely seems like you'd benefit from a watch from his "Drawing Basics" section. It's a free watch on Youtube, but if you find him a good teacher, be sure too look more into him. Don't worry. It's actually pretty fun.

When you're sketching, try not to go back and forth across your lines and when you have the opportunity, always use reference.

3D Modeling / Re: Modeling

Maya's great for animation. Max is great for modeling. Blender's great because it's free.

Obviously, each have their cons though. Maya for instance has a similar a robust system when it comes to animation, it's own volumetrics engine, unfold3D as a new standard Unwrap, etc. What it doesn't have are the many modifiers that some users transferring from Max missed.

Max has extensive plugin support, mounds of choices for customizing UI/Shortcuts, Simple to use rigging tools, simple scripting language, etc. It's UI is so heavily customizable though due to it being clunky and confusing at first. It also likes to crash when something's not going it's way.

Blender is obviously free. It's tricky to get into so I never did, but it's free. Try blender before anything else. Everything follows a similar principle.

3D Modeling / Re: Is there an app for 3D modeling on smartphones
« on: March 22, 2016, 01:07:10 »
Can i create 3D models from my phone(talking about iphone 4) ?

That's an extremely strenuous task vs a desktop application. Use blender.

General Discussion / Re: Rant thread. Warning: strong language

Maybe let go of league for a while before you give yourself an aneurysm. Is there some ranking system like CS:GO that you're having to constantly sit atop or is the general idea of some troll ruining your golden match making you want to snap someone in half?

It is amazing how far this game it is by being independent and by having such a little volunteer crew.

I'm new so I don't deserve to be congratulated yet but for the rest of all  Administrator, Global Moderators, and Developers, my congratz!
I am but a simple forum member.

I'm kinda lost here, that reply wasn't meant for this thread or was it? o.o
It doesn't have any relation to what Lumen posted as far as I can see ;o

And nicely done Lumen :p waiting for other videos.
Thanks. I'm readying up a second currently.

How does this relate to the thread?

On topic-

Wow, did not know that even making a screw takes that much work, Kudos to you Lumen, nice work.

Definitely depends on your level of detail. The retop of the screw and the process to texture it was basic. The actual modeling of the screw while forming threads and keeping form was more a task, but still quick and easy. Thank you.

looks sick af! nice work, keep it up  :P

Better explanation. Every polygon in the police academy w/e looks angular, as if someone didn't use smoothing groups. I think it's visible in the hilt of the katana also. It's off putting.

I think that the police station was meant to be like that. You can see that there was applied some smoothing on the sides of the building (where the shurikens are). But, yeah some of them don't have it like the bench or the barrels.

[Cleared the first statement. Understood what you were saying there]
I don't believe that the building was meant to be so unnaturally sharpened unless they just decided to half-ass it and not use a high poly to create the proper
normal map for the building. Quite literally everything that is a rounded surface is sharp which is quite the eye-sore. It evenshows in the textures. It's as if someone went into
Substance Designer, created and SBSAR and slapped it on. If every other building example where similar, I'd of not poked at it, but it's just entirely too inconsistent and contrast
riddled.

As far living status of the parents, it's not stated as it's an omission to increase the future potential of the character and not everyone in the village were killed, lol.

What you need to be an Environmental Artist?

If you're attempting to add to the current environment, it'd be preferred. If you're just making the place from scratch, it would still be preferred.
