Bloodlines

Hey! So I have recently found out about SLO, and I think that it is going to be an amazing game at it's release!
Coincidentally, I have actually been brainstorming Ideas for a Naruto MMO for a while, (lol) and the biggest problem in my way is the fact that one person with no programming, modeling, or any sort of experience in game design can not go very far with ideas alone.
So I think that my ideas could be better utilized by you guys!
I probably will say some things that you guys have already working or finished working on, but bear with me because I quite honestly do not know quite that much about this game.

Okay, Onwards!

Bloodlines

So what I am thinking is kind of an "Adoption" System.

Sounds weird, right?

I know, just hear me out.

Since I am assuming that there will eventually be marriage in this game, I propose that SLO could have a system where the couple can "adopt" another player.

Let us use the Sharingan, for example.

If the "Father" has the Sharingan and the "Mother" does not, there will be a 50/50 chance of the adopted player being able to unlock the Sharingan.

If we are assuming that kid develops the Sharingan later on, and he marries a woman with say, a Pure Byakugan(Meaning both parents had the Byakugan) There is a 25% chance of their "Child" having the Sharingan, a 50% chance of the Byakugan, and a 25% chance of neither.

How would the first Sharingan users come to have the Sharingan? Well, What I am thinking is that at a random period in time, 5-7 Members of one single non-Sharingan clan would have the Sharingan Manifest.

Same for other Dojutsu.

Okay!

Later!

I see some flaws in this, actually quite a lot :p
People would abuse this system and then Bloodlines wouldn't be special anymore imho.

my thoughts exactly. I prefer the random manner in which kkg are obtained in the SLO concept rather than this bloodline system

Welcome to SLO ;)

If that was actually in the game, then each new generation of players will be stronger than the ones before them.
An adoption (if that's going to be a thing) shouldn't offer more than a different lifestyle.

Btw, you should definitely read the FAQ before posting suggestions.

<_< so everyone forgot my marriiage idea......*sniff* okay *sniff*

Well I get were Calamity is going with this and the flaws but yeah we could let adoption's have different benefits rather then providing kekkei Genkai e.g the adopted kid could learn/master a specific jutsu that a parent has mastered or acquired, the adopted kids secondary chakra nature would have a higher probability of being the same as their parents secondary chakra nature, the kid's surname by default becomes the same as their father/mothers

Lol but when it comes to KKG every method I think of is broken.

Maybe I'm just nit-picking here but if someone is adopted how do they inherit anything from their parents?

Lol but when it comes to KKG every method I think of is broken.

This is because in a anima it makes for a good
Story but in a skill based game.. it just gives some a unfair advantage. The only way to do
Kkg is to make them mutation of an average Shinobi.

Limiting 1 stat but giving them the combined nature.

lets please just leave vreg to use his own methods to allocate kkg

I know this is a tad late but the issue with the ideas of adoption is that there is an obvious benefit with no drawbacks. The adopted shinobi gains/has the ability to gain something from either parent with 0 drawbacks.

Not only does that obviously make each successive generation stronger but it leaves the possibility of people bargaining off their KKG.

"For XXX currency, I'll adopt you and increase your likelihood of receiving my KKG by X%"

I'm not particularly supportive of the idea of adotion but if it is to be included, a drawback of sorts would have to be mandatory.

RIP my old sig, got too annoying for even me
