So after doing the hidden snow comp(shown below) my teammates commented that it might not fit the style of the game as the architecture style is obviously not Japanese(Eskimo and Turkish style cultures were the main inspirations). This was done mainly as Japanese style buildings are not meant for constant snowfall, so i thought a culture that had spent centuries living in this climate would be more suited for this village(eskimos) and that the Turkish architecture is so majestic and extravagant that it would fit with the backstory i was creating(strong rich-poor divide). However we are making this game for you, the community, so this is your chance to way in. Do you want exclusively Asian architecture? Or are you fine with some more artistic freedom in regards to culture? Comment wit your thoughts and vote in the poll.

I really love this!
Its look really amazing and this way every village would be unique and special in its own way.
But thats my opinion.
It looks cool it really does ^^
But does it fit the game?
Im excited to see everybody his answer.

Just gonna repost my SB answer;
I do feel like japanese should be the main style, but if it doesn't work in a certain area I don't mind it being from a different culture.
That really looks awesome though

That really looks awesome though, but not sure if shinobis would live in iglos
Thats true i also dont think it fits.
But if every village is Japanese styled then i think every village is not unique.
I think if it has their own buildings from different cultures that it will be more "Special"

That castle looking place you should keep but make it bigger with a little japanese culture inside of there like a bath house. Im not sure what your using the igloos for, are those for a small village before the hidden village.

I agree with what the majority of people are saying, I think this looks really good.
Sure we should try to have a Japanese feel to the villages but if it doesn't make sense then I don't see anything wrong with straying from that style a little bit.

I don't mind any culture :P as long as it looks good in the game, cause I don't think you can fit in Japanese style houses in Hidden Thunder, or Hidden forest, since there is just a little too much difference in the cultures planned for those both villages and Japanese culture, just my opinion though, I wouldn't mind seeing any building, as long as it's majestic xD though we DO need a little bit of Japan in there :).

I reckon having different building styles would really help create the natural culture differences between the villages which is just a simple human thing to have. Besides I refuse to waste this EPIC landscape ;)

Really appreciate the feedback guys, thanks to your help I now know where i can modify this concept, and which design route to go for future village concepts. For the snow village in particular, im going to take the advice given and remove the Eskimo houses for the 'poor' villages and replace them with log cabins as suggested by @Leebz , an idea which seems plausible considering the large pine forest next to the lower village. Thanks again peeps, off to make it happen :)
