Voting has closed.

At the time of 40 votes, we had a tie for
Quote
Engine + graphics overhaul
and
Quote
Character and animation overhaul

Both of these will be tackled first. We will hold a separate voting for the remaining options once these two are complete.

Due to the nature of the options, I will start with the engine upgrade. We will hold another community test once this is complete. Afterwards, the character and animation overhaul will be worked on.

I will keep you guys posted on the developments.

My question is: Are we going to keep doing polls for every update? Because I'd be pretty happy with that.
If there's multiple options, then yes :)

I'm actually surprised there are next to no votes on proper net sync :(
That's coming either way. The question is when: right now, or after some other update which precedes it.

For the next update, we're not working on what's needed the most, but rather on what the community wants the most. That's why I'm letting the community choose :)

Question about the engine overhaul?
You have done all this work for networking, so you’re likely not talking about switching engines, are you considered refactoring to ECS with Unity 2019 LTS? If so I’m for that one!! I think this game could really benefit from the newer production benefit and performance benefits of The DOTs work flow!
For the *next* update I'm talking about upgrading our engine to the latest version. Our current version is about 3 years behind. The update is not trivial, as there are certain areas that are no longer supported.

The long overdue SLO networking update has arrived. This means that SLO is ready for further updates. Select your top 3 choices, in no particular order. Use this topic to discuss the options or to ask questions.

Thank you.

The big networking rewrite has been completed. Please download the latest client and try to find any bugs that did not exist before. I've also added a lake with some pillars for a change.

This marks a big milestone for SLO, because it was holding back any other updates. Now we can decide what's next. We will shortly hold a community voting for what the next update should entail.

lol ok sure the game looks dead but there is hope for the future.

click the link below, scroll to the bottom, look at the columns labelled "most online" and "total views"

https://www.shinobilifeonline.com/index.php?action=stats

despite the poor activity, the forum is not only getting traffic, but getting more traffic than in the glorious 2016/17 years (which means adsense is raking it in) and more importantly, people are STILL looking for AND finding the game.

So yes, the forum is dead. But the future is not.

It ain't over till it's over. SLO 2.0 revival in the next decade.

At least someone gets it, but seriously we are getting some updates soon.

Follow these steps in their exact order.

1. Open an SLO client and log in.
2. Open a second SLO client and log in again.
3. Close the second SLO client.
4. Close the first SLO client.

Your character is now reset and unstuck.

@Nova splitting topics is great, but they end up in the same board as the original post, something like this shouldn't be in News and Announcements. Just a heads up.
