Thanks man, thats my most recent and honestly favourite atm, not just in regards to detail/lighting/mood but more the time in which the standard was achieved, which was like 2.5 hrs. (quick for me anyway xD)

2.5 HRS?!?!?

Wtf were you on, coffee+cocaine?

Seriously, that's extremely low...for ANY ARTIST. Took me three hours to make something only a 16th that good.

Also, I noted something on that picture while I was looking at it. Your "Roid-Mane" has it's legs off, a normal cat-leg setup goes more like:

===\
===II
===/
///
IT
\\\
 ===

and less like:

===\
===II
===/
 \\\
  ITI
  ///
  ===

Just my two cents, hope it helped in some way.

They are like in the first pose. The left front leg goes naturaly because that joint that is bending forward is not the knee is the ankle.

EDIT: Is like in this photo (ignore the back legs)

Yeah i noticed something was up with that, thanks guys i for giving me tips and reference, very useful. My anatomy needs some work xD

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Attending Classes
« on: June 28, 2015, 17:37:11 »
Yeah thats what i thought^^. However Straw, there will be some tests which require revision of some sort, for example the chunnin and jounin exams will certainly require knowledge about konoha and other topics, which will of course be specified beforehand in some sort of spec. However doing that kind of thing at academy level is kinda unnecessary, better reserve it for only the upper levels which far less people will achieve

Yeah its like these guys said. You do technically start as an academy student, but this part is the very first section, where you are taught basic jutsu, movement, taijutsu, etc. Essentially the base for everything. Once you have completed all these sections, you will be awarded with a headband, and become a genin, where you can narrow down and improve the particular skills you want. The reason we decided to do this is because as mentioned,  it would be very hard to organize exams(written) and because most of the typically 'fun' things actually start when u become a genin(questing, your own team and mentor, advanced training etc).

Oh and as a side note, book learning will certainly be available. In fact, those dedicated enough to find books/scrolls on different subjects, either from a library or scattered throughout the world will gain a significant advantage in combat and general skill improvement. As well as this, guides and maps to find forbidden and poweful jutsu scrolls have also been discussed to be hidden both in obscure locations and the larger and more ancient library's throughout the world.

Nice draw, great story and some nice details. So yeah as mentioned proportions are the only real issues here aside from some little perspective problems. Like for starters im not entirely sure if  the hill behind those guys is a hill, a rock or a mountain. This is kinda down to a lack of clear perspective, which becomes more obvious if we look in the foreground. If it is indeed a rock, due to the angle at which the rock has been drawn, the slope of the rock seems very steep. To fix this id recommend widening out the base of the rock, which would naturally occur due to foreshortening for a rock with what i assume is intended to be a less steep slope( oh and probably make the vanishing point flat too, maybe with a ruler?). Only other problem you've got is depth, which is extremely hard to achieve with pencil, only thing i could recommend with this medium is making the foreground values a bit darker/make them stand out compared to the background values through some greater line thickness on the characters and body bag. As for proportions, only tip i can give is study bodies and how they move, maybe look for similar poses online before you start a draw and see the way bodies and limbs move for the pose you want. Other than that, nice draw, your improvement can be seen with each drawing! ;)

Still feel a bit nervous looking at those shinobi-mechs and shinobi-armored suits, but I think they look pretty awesome overall. Imo, you do a fantastic job with environments and I'd like to see more of them (and I can imagine they're a pain to do, and then color as well). As for the last Christmas one, nice refs to previous pics XD (though the fire looks a bit off at that angle, but I guess it would have made that Chidori look pretty useless if he were actually aiming at the other shinobi).

Just asking, as I'm interested, but what do you use to color your pics and/or make certain parts look more...how should I say it....blurred? I was really impressed by the way you used that effect in the Desert Village, and again it works well here for the snow and fire, so how do you get that effect to come out? I'm asking because I wanted to try and use that for some storm-clouds in a background, and it would be good to know for later visual effects (such as fire, fog, etc.).

I use photoshop and a Wacom Bamboo tablet for all my paintings, for the very reason that photoshop contains multiple filters and adjustments which can be applied at will(including the ability to blur) as well as the sacred undo button :). As for the other issues, the mech is still undecided on whether it should be included, just a design pass on a possibility which could serve as an opponent to the shinobi wold and as such force them to come out of fighting each other and unite(that was a possible idea me and vreg were discussing). Also for the Christmas tree one, yeah that was my intention, had to make it look like a fight scene where the anbu guy jumps above the opponents fire. Finally, for the landscapes, more are certainty coming as soon as i get out of this horrible exam period xD
