Shinobi Life Online does not generate any revenue. A project like Shinobi Life Online needs funding. It is simply not possible for the project to grow without money. That is why we're asking all Shinobi Life Online fans who have the possibility to make a donation.

Here are a couple of examples on what donations will be/are used for:

• Engine Upgrade
  Shinobi Life Online is powered by Unity Engine. We are currently using the free version of this wonderful engine, which comes with some limitations. To get the best experience possible with Shinobi Life Online, we need to get a license upgrade.
  
• Massive Battles
  If we ever want to consider real-time wars with hundreds of players, we'll need dedicated servers. Unfortunately dedicated servers are expensive, and expensive is an amount of money we can't afford.
  
• Server Hosting
  Hosting our servers 24/7 is not cheap, donations help pay for it.
  
• Assets
  Sometimes development can be sped up by purchasing ready-made art assets instead of creating them ourselves. Examples include models, textures, sound effects, etc.
  

All together, your donations are what will keep the Shinobi Life Online project alive and ensure a bright future for it.

Donation Ranks & Perks

Those who donate get access to early content, it's a form of our gratitude towards the ones that have financially supported Shinobi Life Online.

The amount of access to early content a Shinobi Life Online account has, depends on its donator rank.

The higher an account's donator rank, the more access to early content that account will have, especially in the future.

There are a total of 6 donator ranks:

• Genin Donator
  The donator rank of an account that has donated a total amount of more than or equal to € 1 and less than € 10.
  
• Chunin Donator
  The donator rank of an account that has donated a total amount of more than or equal to € 10 and less than € 20.
  
• Special Jonin Donator
  The donator rank of an account that has donated a total amount of more than or equal to € 20 and less than € 50.
  
• Jonin Donator
  The donator rank of an account that has donated a total amount of more than or equal to € 50 and less than € 100.
  
• Sennin Donator
  The donator rank of an account that has donated a total amount of more than or equal to € 100 and less than € 1000.
  
• Kage Donator
  The donator rank of an account that has donated a total amount of more than or equal to € 1000.
  

Additionally, accounts of Sennin Donator rank and higher get a custom color and animated icon of their choice which will be visible both on the forum and in-game.

Accounts of Genin Donator rank currently have no early access.

Don't feel bad if you simply have no resources for financial support. You can always support Shinobi Life Online by telling everyone (who'd care) about the project, by being an active member on the forum, by giving criticism on what already exists and by giving suggestions on what you'd like to see next.

Donations are cumulative and not refundable, multiple or monthly donations are added on top of your total donated amount and this is how your donator rank can increase.

With the help of PayPal, donations can be made with a PayPal account or with any debit/credit card without a PayPal account. Paypal charges us 3,4% + €0,35 EUR per transaction for their services.
