« on: January 29, 2017, 19:22:57 »
Clan Name: Zen’no no Sabaku - 全能 – “Omnipotent, the all-powerful”
Clan Logo:

Founder: Unknown
Leader: Ikiryo Zen’no no Sabaku
Affiliation: Completely devoted to Hidden Dust and the Sabaku Kuchikomi

Clan History:

Spoiler: show

The religious Zen’no believe that long ago, in a time of turbulence and war amongst the great shinobi nations, the four great spirits of the heavens; the Azure dragon of the east, the Vermillion bird of the south, the White tiger of the west and the Black turtle of the North, grew weary of watching the humans fight and by combining their powers, breathed life into two of their creations to be born of man as brothers that would bring an end to the conflict among men.
In truth however, these brothers, dubbed Kanjo and Omou were born to a wealthy Landlord and his wife in the land of dunes, Kanjo being the older of the two. Born with the seishin ataeru (translates literally as “an endowed spirit”), the brothers prospered in all their endeavors and soon became the most renowned shinobi in all of the land commanding great respect and reverence. With the most fierce army the desert had ever known, they sought to unify the land and consequently conquer the shinobi world. Great villages and strongholds fell at their feet and lords of the land lost all their power to them, their might was so terrible that this army became known as the Zen’no Osama, the invincible, all-powerful kings. In no time, the Zen’no had full control of the desert, ruling with an iron fist and its people only answered to the brothers and their generals, nobody else. An obstacle to their plans soon presented itself as Kanjo had began to feel for the people of the land, their subjects. A sense of loyalty and patriotism was manifesting in him and he had began wanting the prosperity of his people over the power he once coveted. His younger brother Omou, a man of few words and strong conviction, did not share these feelings with Kanjo and their forces started to split in two in support of either brother. A quarrel soon ensued and Kanjo was killed due to his reluctance to fight his brother and comrades. Omou had killed his own brother in order to preserve the dream they once shared but soon after the death of Kanjo, regret, remorse and the vanity of his own ideals began to dawn on Omou. In a deep state of depression, Omou became obsessed with the his brother’s dying beliefs, passing them down to his and Kanjo’s children and then committing suicide in atonement for his sins. In honor of the two brothers a monument was erected and the Zen’no under the direction of their children, dedicated their lives and service to the people of the desert. After the war, through the combined efforts of the Zen’no and Kitsune families, now known as the Sabaku Kuchikomi, the village hidden in the dust was established.
Till date, the monument of the brothers stands tall in the village and their ideals form the basis of the Zen’no’s culture.
As a house descended from the brothers of the seishin ataeru, the Zen’no are immensely powerful as shinobi and politicians, commanding great respect and becoming renowned as the protectors of the village hidden in the dust. They are hailed as the founders of the Dust Village, making them extremely respected and sacred. All members are very well known and respected throughout the village. They are considered as a ‘noble family’ of Hokorigakure, and are regarded as one of the most powerful groups in the village making up majority of its military force. They are quite wealthy, and a pretty large house.

Families and Traditions:

Families
Spoiler: show

Families in the Zen’no are very important. Children are lavished with attention by everyone around them and from a young age children are taught skills that will help them in their future careers. Usually this teaching is done by the parents until they are ready to join the academies available to them. As a ruling house of the village as well as its major military force, most if not all the education received by younglings of the family pertains to these two areas of expertise.
Marriage in this family is a sacred practice. Inter house marriage is very common, most marrying distant cousins to help preserve the strong bloodline. But in recent years and with the new generation of Zen’no reaching adulthood, finding love outside of their family and even their clan is becoming more frequent. This tends to be a little frowned upon by the elders though. If a marriage prospect does not understand this family's traditions and expectations, it will not work because a Zen’no will stubbornly refuse to bend their ways. They are willing to compromise but they will not abandon their traditions for anyone. Marriage ceremonies are elaborate and last for lengthy periods of time, sometimes for as long as 3 days celebrating the union of the new spouses. They usually wear long intricately made necklaces of beads and woven string during the ceremony. During their vows they will place the necklace around their bride or grooms neck, wearing it together to symbolizes their unity and devotion to one another. Before a marriage can take place a dowry is usually paid to the family’s elders by the male party. Cheating is looked down upon and divorce is uncommon. Both of these actions are rare but they still occur, and if the marriage cannot be fixed, the family would rather see a divorce to be truthful rather than to be unfaithful and cheat on a spouse. If a Zen’no becomes a widow or a widower, they usually do not remarry, but it’s not unusual if they do.

Traditions
Spoiler: show

- Both sexes are allowed to wear whatever type of clothing they prefer, the exception being at family ceremonies. The Zen’no are very respectful of women and their choices and do not view them as objects in any form as some other families would.
- Despite having only been just exceptional shinobi, the brothers Kanjo and Omou are often spoken of as deities and appropriate honorifics are used when referring to them. The more spiritual members of the clan can often be seen at the monument or gravestones of the brothers either paying homage or just making a prayer. The four heavenly beasts are also worshipped by some and sacrifices are made at their shrines during times of trouble and turmoil.
- Eagles are symbolic in Zen’no culture.
