Shinobi Life Online News & Announcements / Re: New Kage Election
« on: June 16, 2016, 14:13:11 »
ad. 2 - In regard to the previous argument, due to the sketchiness of time-online counting mechanics, the "five days online" requirment seems to be unjust from the core. Moreover - what does it prove? I wish not to be rude about it, however it looks like a fake requirment that could somehow determine ones activity on forum. Remember however - there are people who will not loiter around the forum, posting trash posts, thus popping up their online timer, and there will be people who just come and go, leaving important feedback in matters that actually will cause some impact on the game.
Well it also prevents people who create profiles and abandon the site to come in and run for Kage. There are people who make accounts and have only been online once or twice, just because they made the account 6+ months ago doesn't mean they were active and thus not making them fit for Kage as they were not part of the community. IMO that's why I think that requirement was made.

Even if they do... I believe they still are viable candidates. SLO has a slow development speed, thus it is really hard to try and remain all-time-active in most cases. Why stay at one place and keep loitering, when you can just go around, while keeping in touch? With all due respect, but since I left and came back, not much have changed.

I'm still bothered by the requirment of time spent online on the forum. Surely, I can understand the requirment for game performance and for account history (meaning it has to be about half year old from now on), alas the "5 days online" is making me a little bit upset. And I won't hide the fact that is because I can't participate. I'm an honest person in those matters, be it right or wrong to do.

My argumentation against this requirment are a couple of facts, that determine this requirment to be "sketchy" at best.

ad. 1 - Cedie said himself that you can stay on forum as long as you want, but after a time it stops counting your activity. Most of us idle on forum and participate in shoutbox chat. Thus our time is not counted towards the activity.

Remember however - there are people who will not loiter around the forum, posting trash posts, thus popping up their online timer, and there will be people who just come and go, leaving important feedback in matters that actually will cause some impact on the game.

ad. 3 - As the requirment of "your account needs to be half year old - at least" is quite understandable, to prevent potential side accounts from popping out before the election, the online time is merely a nuisance as mentioned in ad. 2. Dedication is one thing, but loitering around and doing nothing - is something tad bit different.

ad. 4 - As far as I know and as far as I can measure, right me if I'm wrong, but with these conditions there seems not to be enough of applicable candidates. Thus creating a typical logic error in the very core of the election rules.

In conclusion, this post was written to prove that the "time online" requirment is more of a nuisance, than a control mechanism. I value your reasoning Cedie and I respect your choices both as a human being and as a moderator, yet if I do not agree with something, I'd like to discuss it in the open field. I'd like to know more about it from other players and Cedie himself. Under no circumstances this post wasn't written to undermine anyones position or harass/offen anyone. I just believe we can improve our situation.

An in extention, if this errata I propose passed, due to the fact I fullfill every other requirment...

I wish to candidate for Kinzokugakure no Sato chair of Kage.

Thank you for reading through this post.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / AoE preview for Jutsu
« on: January 24, 2016, 10:19:16 »
Based on my current experience, and taking into account the fast pace of game - jutsus could use a preview of the aoe of it's attack.

For example, the fire jutsu is a cone aoe jutsu. Giving it a cone-like ui shape would allow easier targeting and could contribute to overall appeal of the game. Since it wouldn't be so damn hard to hit anything with it.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Clan creators/leaders KKG
« on: January 23, 2016, 14:40:25 »
As it's all fine and dandy - it lacks a forethought. Someone who'd join a different clan, wouldn't really receive another clans bloodline. It'd totally slay the immersion and the whole idea of creating clans, leaving us to stick to organisations instead (which have nothing to do with actual genetics and KKG).

Wiser choice would be holding an entry contest for Clans - those which did the best way upon their plot, overall creation, balance etc. would receive a bloodline of their choice, which would be then given to the current clan creator (as a reward) and be available to roll, by their fellow clansmen.

And since we'd have various bloodlines, we could introduce a D-S ranking system, which could influence the probability of getting a bloodline. Ranging from D ranked, weak or drawbacked bloodlines having... For instance 20% chance to roll, up to S ranked ones, with immense power that would have 1 or even 0.5% chahnce to roll and would be clan-restricted.

The possibilities are many in this matter - whatever is said here, is still open to discussion. Also, what I'm saying is just an idea, free to utilise by devs. It just seems a little bit more planned and fair for those, who are willing to do some real work for the game itself, to receive a small compensation for their devotion.

I'll just say that making your font bigger, doesn't really make the whole thing look better. Especially that it's horribly lacking in description whatsoever. I mean, you look like the kind of a guy who can do it and can do it better.

If you need any help, feel free to pm me.

Well, the idea of KKG was (from what I read from FAQ) to build clans around people who initially had KKG and decided to make one, so people creating a character later - choosing said clan - would have a chance to get this, specific bloodline.

It's kinda odd, taking in account the mechanical aspect of the game, since this would mean, we'd have to start with a set roster of clans, that would end up to be chosen by the player. With information about said clans, one could determine what kind of bloodline would be possibly inherited. Thus making the whole "random" thing a little not random at all.

On the other side, if making a clanless character and rolling a random bloodline - would mean that the character is a sort of a bastard baby from said clan (if the corresponding bloodline matches).

To be honest, from my point of view, the whole idea of "random" KKG is not realy well thought through.

Shinobi Life Online Organizations / Shoku (Eclipse)
« on: January 23, 2016, 07:00:19 »
Organisation Name: Shoku - 食 (Eclipse)

Organisation Logo:

Founder: Hadokawa Heihachi

Leader: None / They answer only to current Daimyo of Hadokawa Clan

Affiliation: Hadokawa Clan - more accurately - their Daimyo

Allies: None

Enemies: None

History: Created over two hundred years ago by Hadokawa Heihachi - one of the most ruthless and paranoic daimyo that held the title. As his rule brought much dismay on the Clan itself, cutting many bonds to other families - this organisation was probably the single thing that Heihachi did well. As mentioned, born from daimyos paranoia and wrong interpretations of his ancestors vows - he created a top secret organisation that had but a simple agenda. To maintain the balance of the forces in the world of Shinobi. Since its founding days - Shoku eliminated countless enemies to the Clan and any potantial hazards that could create a threat to the country of even known world itself.

Organisation history is maintained mostly through records of their deeds, rather than events which took place. Moreover - the history is kept recorded by every members dossier, which creates a list of actions undertaken by this secretive organisation, thus creating a complex and difficult to understand web of events that need to be connected together, only to form a vague and often chaotic story of what really happened.

Purpose: Their sole goal is to act as a balancing factor and to even out the odds in terms of global balance. Some might say they are merely peacekeepers, other will call them blatant murderers and terrorists even. Since their methods are far from clean and fair - they would be the most hated and despised organisation even. Only if someone outside of the Clan would be aware of their existence. For their another major goal is to remain undetected and invisible to worlds perception. You cannot blame someone you have no idea of existence in the first place.

The Shoku utilise a very strict rule that enforces a captive agent to kill himself or do anything that the circumstances will call for - to ensure that the information they carry will never be brought to the light. This often results in utilising a special jutsu which calls forth the Shinigami, to take their soul into the deepest and darkest place of their domain - never to be brought up for questioning both in body or soul. Such action is often treated as a highest sacrifice and ensures those related to agent - to be properly compensated for such sacrifice.

Unique Features: They use various forms of calls and responds to determine wether or not they are to share their info with a designated contact. Every single member of the organisation has a seal tattooed over his pallate to prevent from speaking against other members, giving out secrets or acting against the Clan.

Rankings: Every member of this organisation has the same rank towards the others, making everyone equal. Despite the equality, everyone is given a proper codename to utilise, given directly from the Daimyo.

Members: Undisclosed

Rules:

* You will never act against the will of the Daimyo
* You will never disobey your orders
* You will never betray one another
* You will never undertake an action that will harm the Clan
* You will never reveal yourself
* You will never fail
* You will uphold the rules and obey them - otherwise you shall die

Shinobi Life Online Clans / Re: Hadokawa Clan
« on: January 22, 2016, 09:28:04 »
As the leader of the Clan was astounded that this single man, decided to seek them out and meet him in person, just to offer his skills and wisdom. Although he didn't hail from a noble clan or a decent family, Daimyo knew better than that, to recognise a man, who wishes to proove his skill and fight for the right cause. With a single nod, the man was accepted and taken by the other servants. Soon after he was approached by one of the Hakogata and lead to the side buildings where the little brothers were residing. This tall man began to explain.
- You shall be one of the Shatei, a small brother. Serve our Clan with obedience and loyalty, and you will be rewarded greatly. As long as you don't advance into our ranks as a full-fledged member, you may still leave and we will forget your face.
Retainer was a serious person, bearing the mon of a lower family of the Clan, he cleared his throat and continued.
- But if you pledge your blood to our cause, the only way to leave us will be betrayal. And that is met with fate, that is worse than death.
After a moment of grave silence, he gave the newest kinsman a warm smile from under his half-transparent mask, and walked him back to the living quarters he was about to take as his own.

Therefore I grant you the rank of Shatei and accept you into the outer family. Serve us with pride and loyalty.

So basically, we're dealing with a clan of mentally ill weirdos, who believe themselves to be in control of some unnatural power... But all they do is wander around aimlessly, feeding off their delusions that fuel their sick minds.

And since everybody hate and hunt them. I guess everyone will be more than pleased to kill every, single one of them.

... xD

Who am I trying to fool here, this is an utter waste of time.

You know what...

Normally - I'd like to help you and even guide you to make something sensible out of your thing... But...

A) Your "clan" is a friggin munchkin
B) It has no sense whatsoever
C) History is cheap as hell
D) I really, really, REALLY can't stand people with that kind of dumb attitude you present.

So here's my ounce of hate and disregard for your topic.
