Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Village's lore
« on: March 03, 2017, 16:21:11 »
This suggestion is related to the history of villages, more specific to the history of Hidden Ocean.
I know that Vreg decided not to make this village anymore but I thought of an alternative.
What I thought of is a world lore where Hidden Ocean Village is a legendary village that is supposed to be the place where everything related to shinobis started to move at the beginning. From uncertain causes, the empire fell in ruins, now laying on the bottom of the sea. Many secrets were lost that day and the time destroyed most of the remains that were saved. Nowadays, many are trying to find the legendary swords there were forged in that village (referring to those special weapons, not necessary swords) and the long forgotten techniques that were classified as forbidden. Many think, Vreg is the last survivor of the Hidden Ocean.

With such a factor in the story, many interesting lore ideas can derive from it.
The temporal period of this event would fall after the decided lore from this topic:;topicseen#new, but before the great 11 villages would appear.

I know that this idea sounds much like the legend of Atlantis, but I think this insinuation is subtle enough so it won't be perceived as a cliche.

Shinobi Life Online Discussion / Practical Test Request
« on: August 04, 2016, 19:51:28 »
I am aware of the terms I accepted when I registered for the Kage election:
-Has a computer capable of running the game at 30FPS.

And at that time I met the requirements but recently my Motherboard stopped working with my Video Card so I had to send it to the service.
Also, I will be away from home from 16th of August until 28th and I doubt the service will return my components until my leaving therefore I ask for a delay of one week, until 4th of September.

I consider that an injustice was done towards me in the second part of the test regarding the 11th question as my answer was not wrong because of my analyze or my way of thinking but because of my english knowledge, but this is not for me to judge, but I think I worth a chance to attend the third part.

Also, I don't think this is entirely fair towards the other candidates, so please, opponents, I look for your approval as well.

Thank you for your time.

The Crows

These are the ones that track people, watch them and gain information about their location without being seen. Usually members of Onmitsukidō are assigned to this legion if they are inexperienced or inefficient, as the missions assigned to this legion don’t present a high level of risk or danger. Newcomers must complete several missions in this legion before advancing to other legions.

Legion Two
The Shadows

These are the members who blend into the shadow, become the shadow; the shadow of their target. They go wherever their target goes, hear whatever their target hears and see whatever their target sees, until the required intel is revealed to them.

Legion Three
The Chains

The chains are sent to capture their targets. Ordinary shinobi may become at times part of The Chains without realizing it. As this task often requires more men to be completed, the official members of Onmitsukidō may use the help of their friends to complete the mission, without revealing their affiliation to Onmitsukidō. Only the trustworthy members will make into Legion Three.

Legion Four
The Wraiths

The members of the fourth legion are not afraid to see the red within their targets spilled out. They get their job done, leaving no trace, no proof, no smell of their presence. They only bring death and then erase it.

Legion Five
The Boogeymen

They are expert interrogators. When Onmitsukidō needs information from a prisoner, Legion Five comes into action.

The left hand of God: The most valuable and the most dedicated member of the organization will become the elite member of Onmitsukidō. He will receive a salary and will be included in the Leadership system. He will also get access to the organization secret information like members list.

If you reveal that you are part of the organization, no matter where or how (on forum, in game or any other means) you will be kicked from the organization.

ALL members must follow The Procedure. Anyone that acts against it will suffer the consequences.
The Procedure: “I receive the task. I know the price and the target. I can refuse the mission; after accepting it there is no way back but death. I don’t question the contact person about who is the leader, who asked for the information, who pays. I do my job without leaving any trace. If I get discovered during the mission, I will be exiled from the organization. If I reveal my identity and information about my missions- even after being exiled- I die. After completing my job, I write a report that I give to the contact person. In 24 hours I will receive my full payment. If I receive message from the contact person that the payer refused to pay, I can ask information about his identity and I have the permission to kill him.  After receiving the payment I forget all the intel I gathered. I take my money and I don’t ask any question. I am dismissed. ”

Application form: If you want to apply for Onmitsukido, PM Konohuro.

Games / Secret Assassin: Round 8
« on: March 02, 2016, 16:09:29 »
@Vreg sticky this please.

I don't know if it's too soon but if we gather enough players why wouldn't we let the fun begin. I volunteered to host the 8th game so that Shivraj can have some fun too.

Post below if you want to play.

1.   In order for the game to commence there must be at least 8 players.
2.   Each player will be assigned a role (I will pm you); Either a Shinobi or an Assassin
3.   There will be 2 assassins
4.   Every ‘night’, the Assassins (who will know each other’s identities) will agree to kill a Shinobi. They will tell me via pm who their victim is and I will inform the Shinobi of their fate in the thread.
5.   Every ‘day’, all of the players will get to vote to kill someone off in to game, in hopes to target the assassin(s).
6.   For every 2 Assassins, 1 Shinobi will be an ANBU member (meaning none if only 6 people play)
7.   ANBU will be able to ask me the identity of a named player (Shinobi or Assassin) once per day (via pm). The ANBU will be on the Shinobi's side, trying to vote the Assassins out of the game.

1.   If at any point in the game, the Assassins outnumber or kill all of the Shinobi, they win. If all Assassins are killed, the Shinobi win.
2.   Lying about your role is authorized. If you’re an assassin you’ll probably want to convince everyone you’re not, so they don’t kill you. Likewise, you can pretend to be an Assassin or ANBU if you'd like, but then you would become an instant target.
3.   'Day' voting will be done in the thread.
4.   Use the thread, shoutbox, or inbox messages as your resources. Try to survive.
5.   If you are an assassin and you are killed. Do not reveal the other assassins out of spite. If the assassins win, you still win too. This rule doesn't apply to the Shinobi.
6.   Once you are dead, you may not help other players.
7.    Roles will be randomly assigned using Don't ask for a role. ;D

Players: SirTroll, Mars, Shivraj, Gronik, cmsrufer, child_emperor, Sanji, json243;

Shinobi Life Online Questions / Villages' arhitecture

Will there be different architectural types of buildings for different villages?

Games / Drawbacks
« on: December 23, 2015, 13:30:40 »
Post what do you think is the person's above you worst defect then post yours.
If you just don't know what to say about the person above and you decide to write the same defect as the one he confessed about himself add a * at the end of the world. (Ex: Iak: Selfish.    Vihs: Selfish*)

I'll start: Arrogant.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Reset button
« on: December 10, 2015, 17:59:09 »
@Vreg can't you make a reset button that would teleport us in the middle of the map after 10 sec? It would save your time and ours as well.

Games / Riddles, deduction problems and logic situations.
« on: August 19, 2015, 08:25:53 »
A simple (or not) game. SImple rules: Someone posts a riddle or anything similar. Whoever will answer correctly, will post the next riddle. Please do not use google for finding the answers, I trust in you. If no one can answer to a certain riddle, the one that posted it will say the answer and the first one that attempted to answer will post the next riddle. Tips are allowed at the request of the players.

This is the first riddle:
3 ants are walking through the desert in an Indian file. The first one, in front of the line says: In front of me is desert, in my left side is desert, in my right side is desert, behind me is another ant.
The second one says: In front of me is another ant, in my left side is desert, in my right side is desert, behind me is another ant.
The last one says: In front of me is another ant, in my left side is desert, in my right side is desert, behind me is another ant.

Why did the last ant say that behind her there is another ant?

Shinobi Life Online Discussion / Sticked organization thread
« on: August 11, 2015, 16:27:17 »
As I am now the contact person of the organization called Onmitsukido I am managing some stuff related to it on forum.
Therefore, I am coming with this question: Would you agree to have the Onmitsukido organization sticked and also locked?
As the organization is a secret one, the activity on it's thread is drastically limited and even if it's a popular organization, new community members will probably not know about the organization. Its inactivity on the thread doesn't mean it's an inactive organization thus it makes things unfair.
I would ask only the organization members to vote.
Thank you!

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Hidden Volcano
« on: August 11, 2015, 12:26:13 »
I think and I hope that Hidden Volcano will actually be a village hidden inside the volcano.
It's hard to find a reason and a logic explanation about why some people decided to build a village in a volcano, but damn I would love to see a village like this:

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Legendary weapon suggestion
« on: August 11, 2015, 12:14:37 »
Here is a suggestion for a legendary weapon and its beast. It takes me too much to write a story and I don't have the necessary inspiration right now.

Weapon: A bow that needs no arrows. When you pull the string an arrow of light and fire will appear.

Yobukyusen (The howl of the Netherworld)

They are associated with hidden volcano.

Shinobi Life Online Questions / Religions
« on: August 06, 2015, 11:00:03 »
Will there be religions that you can follow and which can grant you some special techniques, like Jashin in Naruto? They will be like a different tree skill: Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, Kenjutsu, Shukyojutsu (Religion), etc.

Shinobi Life Online Questions / HP, Chakra regeneration
« on: August 05, 2015, 20:30:34 »
As in any other MMORPG there are potions that fast regain a character's health points and mana/chakra.

Potions aren't friendly to our theme however there should be a way to recover faster than simply wait.

For chakra, a good idea would be to meditate. Sitting in a Lotus position or maybe Seiza (traditional Japanese position) will help you concentrate and gather chakra. (Something similar to what Naruto does to enter in sage mode; of course, in our case, adapted to this game)

But what about HP? How will you recover it. Maybe eating a bowl of ramen or using bandages, but this isn't really realistic. Maybe there should be different types of injuries, some that can be cared for by any shinobi (something like basic aid) while others can be fixed only by a specialist or in a NPC Hospital. Therefore, your HP won't fully charge unless you treat those hard wounds in a special place.

PS: I know that there are some suggestions too but the main question is: How will HP and Chakra fast regeneration work? Will there be any way?

Shinobi Life Online Character / Konohuro Kirishima
« on: July 29, 2015, 15:58:32 »

Image done by Ken and Nova.

Name: Konohuro
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height: 1.80 m
Weight: 70 kg
Hairstyle: A long straight hair falls on Konohuro's back. A medium and thin strand of hair covers a part of his left eye.
Facial hair: -
Hair color: White
Eye color: Grey (only one)
Blood type: B+
Primary chakra nature: Wind
Village: Hidden Ash
Clan: Kirishima
Good or evil at heart?: It depends on how you perceive good and evil. But he will be rogue.

Face 1 (Konohuro refers to this side of his personality as: The Black Mask):

Konohuro is a tragic figure. Since his parent's death he kind of lost apart of himself in that moment too. His whole life since that night has been spent learning and teaching himself how to become a shinobi to save the world from hatred. He's the typical brooding loner type. Also because of his parents death he can appear cold and aloof towards others who wish to get closer. To him he'd rather play it alone because if he cares for someone, puts his heart out on the line, he'll eventually get hurt when he loses them. Still that cold and sometimes arrogant/prideful side is what most people (who don't know him well) see instead of the kind and compassionate person he truly is underneath it all. Though he is very compassionate to others he has trouble sometimes letting the darkness get too far; this can show off his impulsivity despite his calm nature. His friends presence is there for one reason: they're the light to his darkness. They may be the only things keeping him from over the edge.
Beside his attitude The Black Mask has an uncommon curiosity for humans origins and it’s purpose. Since he was a 13 he started travelling across the land seeking answers… answers that are not as important as the question otherwise. He got to three main ideas that are leading his life:
1. Words mean nothing.
2. The emotions are composing the person and are destroying it.
3.Our fate is fixed. It’s our destiny that must be sized.

Face 2 (Konohuro refers to this side of his personality as: The Red Mask):

In contrast with his first face, Konohuro shows that a part of him is a homicidal, psychopathic, ruthless, sadistic, maniacal, lunatic, manipulative, intelligent and diabolical criminal who wants nothing but chaos and anarchy wherever he goes. While The Red Mask covers his mind, Konohuro uses a high-pitched, comical, bouncy, silly, and over-the-top voice that occasionally stoops down to a slight growl. His malevolent, sadistic sense of humor and psychopathic tendency of murdering whoever stays in his way defines The Red Mask so it can't be mistaken with his other personality: The Black Mask. Konohuro also likes to corrupt his enemies in various media, however if he fails he has a vicious, uncommon pleasure of inflicting pain, suffering, or humiliation on his enemies before he kills them due to his ruthless mind.

Despite of the existence of two personalities, they don't manifest separately in fact they act like a whole. After the shift took place, the other personality remembers what the previous one did, in addition while one personality is controlling the body, the other one can easily take control over the other. In fact, a part of Konohuro's rationality remains neutral and decides how to act: like The Black Mask or like The Red Mask. What other people don't understand is that there aren't two different minds nor two different wills that are fighting for the control of the body, the two personalities are just two different types of behaving that Konohuro decides to adopt in order to act in a certain way; choice that is decided by his mood, too.

Description of the character's history:

Chapter 1
A perfect imperfect life

Small drops of lead are falling from the heights of the tinted clouds. One drip touches the still smooth skin of a young boy, followed by another one… in no time the whole horizon was covered by a mantle of rain.
The sound of a whip dragged on the hard ground, not wet yet, can be heard anywhere in the small glade. The whip is raised up to the sun than flicked backwards to the peak of the mountain and finally whipped toward the back of the quiet, humble boy. The skin burst under the three strikes of the three metal heads of the whip: ”I TOLD YOU TO DO AS I SAY!”… Those words were resounding like a thunder in the forest. The bushes nearby were shaking covering the frightened small creatures and leaves started falling when the scared birds were rising to the sky. Only three crows were standing on a fallen log from a corner of the glade, looking into the eyes of the boy, who was propping with his chest in a stump from the middle of the clearing.
Another strike of the whip, another set of wounds and another thunder of words: “You knew that those who don’t listen are punished and still you decided to disregard my words and my orders!”. The whip continued to strike as the man was shouting. “How can you dare to dishonor the name of our family, you, my son… to dishonor the name of the village chef, you, insignificant insect!”. Still, the boy wasn’t crying, wasn’t even yelling, he was just clenching and grinding his teeth biting from the old snag out of hate. His hands were wrapping the unfortunate place of punishment, while the heavy whip tore his back. Finally, after five insane whippings the punisher stopped, but for the 11 years old child, was too much to endure. He was now lying unconscious on the ground. The light rain made a fen of blood around the child. The enraged fathered turned to the two guards who were standing and watching all that time, and said: “You two, take him to the village, to his mother, I will come too eventually.” And the two guards executed the order, picking up very carefully the little kid and carrying him as their leader said.

Yashiro Usagi was a very valorous shinobi in the village hidden by ash. Being the most feared enemy of missing-nins and the ANBU Captain, Yashiro was the pride of the village. He was known for being the most merciless shinobi of his kind, thus he was very dreaded. He was young and full of glory, but his cold heart made of stone was soaked by a beautiful kunoichi of the Infernogakure, respected member of the noble clan Kirishima. Of course their love was never accepted in a world full of interests. However they had a son, that lived his early years of life near his mother in Infernogakure. After some time the couple assumed the risk and run away from their villages becoming missing-nin. Soon they got married and got established in a small modest village somewhere in the middle of a forest. Yashiro and his beautiful wife, Jichiru were fast accepted in their new home. Not unexpected at all, Yashiro became the leader of that village. Because Konohuro was now the son of the village leader, he never stayed with other children of his age. Since he was little, he spent his time with the two guards of Yashiro that thought him how to fight and how to survive. His father wanted him to be a good warrior, a good survivor… a beyond compare shinobi.

Black. Everything’s black, but a shiny ray is making its way through the eyelids slightly open. Yet, a sunshine is not always welcomed…    Konohuro opens slowly his eyes waking up in his bedroom. No one in his room, no one in his house, only the noise of a crowd outside the house was disturbing the silence. Heading toward the entrance, some grimaces appears on Kono’s face as the wounds still hurt when he is twisting even just a bit his chest. He opened the door and found a mess; everyone was running chaotically, children were crying and women were screaming: their village was under attack. Konohuro, bewildered, was trying to find a familiar face in the crowd. Without a notice, a hooded rider grabbed Konohuro, threw him a bit in the air, just the right height so he could lend on the horse. Riding together, they managed to escape from the agglomeration. The rider took off his hood and revealed himself. It was a women, Konohuro’s mother. Of course… Kono could have bet on this… that soft touch of the white refined skin could be only his mother’s. He found out that his father got killed in the attack while he was trying to distract the intruders.
