Uhmm I was thinking and the size of this game is gonna be massive due to the amount of villages and models that is gonna be in the game, I think it would be better on the performance that to enter building(their interiors) a portal should be put in place not a literal portal but an option that makes you right click to enter the building

I like the concept of no portals. In a sense that everything has loaded when you enter the game, obviously doors will be closed to certain buildings but my idea is that when a player gets close enough to a gate a small message will pop up on his screen such as "Press E to enter"; and there will be an animation where the ninja pushes the door open and has the ability to enter without having to do extra loading.

I don't like the idea of loading for entering each building but depending on how many models etc it might have to be necessary.

yeah that's a solid idea and in ninja world excluding time space Jutsu's it wouldn't make sense

It wouldn't make sense to not have instances(portals) for buildings and such logically. I feel like this subject had already been brought up but I may be wrong.

There would have to be instances for almost each interior. It may depend on it's purpose. I'm sure the loading time won't be more than a few seconds, anyway.

I was thinking kinda like Elder Scrolls Online, if any of you have played. Most buildings are in different instances, but some aren't. The ones that aren't in different instances are things that you'd want to get in and out of quickly.

The idea of this game it's to be the most realistic + naruto style.
Portals would make it like too fantasy in my opinion.

I dont like instanced buildings either.
But there may be no other choice.
Lets not forget that this will be a mmo.
Sometimes,realism has to be left behind,for the sake of the gameplay.
This could really help to reduce performance issues.
There are limits for games,and those limits unfortunately dont really care if they are realistic and true to the anime or not ;)
If it can be prevented,thats good.
But if there is no other choice,we will have to deal with instanced buildings.

Maybe if we had minecraft textures & models it would be possible. But we are trying to aim for AAA graphics, the best we can do is have something like skyrim or fallout

Alright Matt understands how difficult it would be to create these things without portals for certain bases and hideouts and restricted areas and such, let's use gta 5 or skyrim for example all those games that contain lots of models and buildings are a pain to load for someone without Alienware Stat pcs Lmao but still some of you think the concept of an animation pushing open a gate every minute in a mmorpg built in unity or unreal anything this uses would be good on your cpu lol

well then in the future unless I get a good pc, I won't be able to really play slo without major lag. That's a shame. Instanced buildings do seem necessary at this point, but however, technology evolves all the time and who knows how performance will have evolved in the next 3-5 years.
