Again, try to stay on topic by only asking questions. That's the purpose of this thread.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Kages
« on: March 19, 2016, 18:13:44 »
No, a Kage does NOT have to be the strongest player in the village. Players will vote in who the deem worthy whether that means a player who isn't very strong but is kind and diplomatically advanced or a leader who is highly mechanically skilled but not the best at politics. Two sides of the same coin. Just because a player isn't strong doesn't automatically deem him incapable of running a village and vice versa, a player who is the best Shinobi in a village doesn't automatically deem him the fittest to rule. It's up to the players and the current state of a village to determine who they think will be the best; if a village is at war and they need a new Kage then they may lean towards one whereas if they are trying to avoid war they may lean towards another. Situations will play a heavy role in who becomes Kage and so will the public image.

Shinobi Life Online News & Announcements / Community Q&A Questions
« on: March 19, 2016, 16:00:53 »
It's that time again my fellow Shinobi! As March comes to a close and spring coming into full swing the team of SLO has decided it'd be nice to bring back an enjoyed event from the past, the Live Stream Q&A.

There are still things to be done and plans to be arranged, such as the exact date (April 2nd), who will be participating - hopefully some new Devs, it's always nice for the community to know the creators and not just us curators - and a few other tasks. However, this also gives you guys quite some time to ask those burning questions no one has asked or to re-ask that one question you just aren't sure about.

The format will be retained from the last Q&A, but for those of you who weren't with us then or if you've forgotten the simple rules (with one addition), here they are:
  • Reply to this thread or pm me.
  • Only reply/pm me questions, and try to minimize them.

That's it. Get those cogs in motion and ask away! I'll be updating this post as the date and other factors solidify.

Edit: Thank you Vipto for bringing this to my attention. Don't be afraid too much of your spelling and/or grammatical mistakes. Also, the exact date has been determined - April 2nd, 2016.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Kages
« on: March 19, 2016, 15:30:09 »
When it comes to behind the scene things, like corruption and what not, it's possible to occur. Will it be difficult to take over a village? Yes. Will it be difficult to control what people hear and what they do? Oh yea. Like in the real world you'll always find yourself opposed by someone, the only difference is that in SLO people are in a game. While SLO will have certain death mechanics, it's still a game. So as you find yourself a Kage of a village and you begin to work towards becoming a tyrant, just know that there'll be a much larger group of resistance because it's just a game and that'd be fun to do.

Also, more on topic, a Kage will not be elected before the MMO comes out, and even then a Kage won't be elected for a hot minute (couple weeks to a month).

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: High level bosses
« on: March 14, 2016, 23:59:01 »
Summoning is a maybe. Mounts are a maybe (aside from horses/maybe a donkey). Bosses that are "dumbed down monkey [kings]" is a more-than-likely no. While there's speculation of "chakra beasts", they'd really only be used for lore with a low chance of ever really existing. Of course, events are awesome and what not, so there's a chance.

Also, when it comes to loot, I'm unsure of how that's going to happen. Animals may only drop certain items based on what they are, and even then you might require certain skills to get said items (skinning, etc). Rather than enemies dropping loot (human enemies could be an exception since it's possible - you can loot dead players as well), they might simply be used for other tasks like self-training and missions. Then you go turn the mission in for the reward and so on. Since SLO will be all aesthetics when it comes to armor/weapons the main focus in the game would be currency and scrolls, of course outfits will be as well. While they don't give godly stats, those sexy, rare apparel items are going to be sought after.

Right, I'm going to lock this thread. Thank you for creating this thread allowing us to shine some light on the plans of adding tailed/chakra beasts into SLO. Like Vreg said, they /might/ be added, and only then implemented in events - rare occurrence (they'll be in lore)

Additionally, thank you all for your input on the various subjects talked about in this thread, but the idea of adding such things are a little far stretched, especially a Jinchuriki. If you have any further questions on the subject feel free to pm and if you'd like to continue discussing feel free to either pm each other or do as Nova suggested.

Edit: If you'd like to continue the discussion feel free to make either a new thread here: http://www.shinobilifeonline.com/index.php?board=1.0

or talk about it here: http://www.shinobilifeonline.com/index.php?topic=1989.0

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Character Alias
« on: February 17, 2016, 21:53:02 »
I know but it would arouse suspicion if you walk around without your name displayed. However if you could change your display name as part of a transformation ninjutsu or something like that as an added effect it would be less obvious you were up to something.

It won't be as suspicious as you are thinking it will be. There will most likely be a large portion of players that /won't/ show their names. It'll be a common thing. Additionally, the whole idea of being able to change appearances is a great idea, although the jutsu will most likely be on the more... Elite side of the spectrum.

Names will be optional. Mask exist. If you want to be incognito then you can be incognito. There will, however, be some form of titles and they, too, will be optional.

I do, I just don't always respond to shit posts.

While having an automated system isn't a "bad" idea, it's much better and more realistic to leave reputations to the general public. If a village, clan, org, or person constantly do malicious activities then they're going to gradually adopt infamy. Equally, if a village, clan, org, or person is consistently doing positive and beneficial tasks then they're going to gradually adopt a reputation that goes along with it. People who help greenhorns and give out answers and advice will be assigned that reputation.

Technically, the players are an automated system, it just won't be "official".

There won't be any (additional) benefits of being a rogue ninja. The point of having the option is for those edge-lords who want to be anti-social. Of course, this doesn't apply to everyone, some people just don't want to be apart of the major village system and that's awesome for them. The benefits you get from being a village shinobi is the fact that you have safe access to a training ground (which is 100% logical... I mean, a village has to train it's young ones some how.) and teachers/senseis. Additionally, rogue's will have similar benefits if they join an organization - the reason for the slashed additional.

Anime / Re: Accel World
« on: December 29, 2015, 17:39:34 »
Yes, the main character is a little bitch, he is also a chubby... /pig/ (see what I did there? Probably not since you haven't seen the anime). However, the anime picks up and gets extremely good. The main character, while staying fat, starts to grow a pair.

I'd rate it 5/7.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Marriage System
« on: December 29, 2015, 01:21:26 »
To be honest I don't see why a system would be required for this. You can just act. In game you can set up a wedding if you want and invite guests. Just find somebody who you think is authorized for the ceremony as a priest. The couples could be noted on the forum or somewhere else to make it legit and that is all. There will be leaders or people with higher reputation who would able to make it legit. Therefore, no scripts or systems are needed in my opinion.

There will be marriage. The system in its entirety hasn't been fully formed, but personally, I'd expect something similar to SAO. A shared bank/storage place as well as (potentially) a separate housing area for all you cute couples out there.

As for children, there won't be any. Like some have already mentioned, your characters start out with a minimum age and go up from there. However, this does leave room for all you role-playing enthusiasts if you'd like playing an older character... or not - break that immersion.

tl;dr - Marriage = yes, children = no; well put Misi.

Granted but each time you transform you will shrink until you're the same size as a single cell.

I wish I could Grow or shrink at will

Granted, you're all a bunch of rookies...

Always the three dots.

Granted but only one millimeter.

I wish @Xendrus would play this game. (It worked with Vreg maybe will work with him too, who knows?)
