Title: HP, Chakra regeneration
Post by: Konohuro on August 05, 2015, 20:30:34
As in any other MMORPG there are potions that fast regain a character's health points and mana/chakra.

Potions aren't friendly to our theme however there should be a way to recover faster than simply wait.

For chakra, a good idea would be to meditate. Sitting in a Lotus position or maybe Seiza (traditional Japanese position) will help you concentrate and gather chakra. (Something similar to what Naruto does to enter in sage mode; of course, in our case, adapted to this game)

But what about HP? How will you recover it. Maybe eating a bowl of ramen or using bandages, but this isn't really realistic. Maybe there should be different types of injuries, some that can be cared for by any shinobi (something like basic aid) while others can be fixed only by a specialist or in a NPC Hospital. Therefore, your HP won't fully charge unless you treat those hard wounds in a special place.

PS: I know that there are some suggestions too but the main question is: How will HP and Chakra fast regeneration work? Will there be any way?

I think bandages should recover HP just like DayZ. Also I think there should be a button like 'C' that will recover your chakra a little bit more that the natural recovery rate.

As Konohuro suggested, the button should make you sit in a lotus or meditating position.

I believe this is the best idea, it is realistic and would make players think about how they use their chakra and if they even want to fight, since you wouldn't want to fight if you have no chakra, unless you use taijutsu XD), this also gives my an idea for a new question, thanks Kono :D

^^

Also, I really like Kono's idea about different types of injury - maybe flesh wounds and ones requiring surgery or something.

I see Mars, And J I was thinking internal bleeding and stuff like that :P external bleeding can be healed by the player with bandages and shit, and internal bleeding needs a healer, plus other kinds of injuries too! concussion gives you black spots on the screen, etc.

Instead of black spots on the screen, I think concussion should just slow down your dexterity and dodging and stuff greatly. I think black spots on the screen may be a bit hard to balance.

I think the black spots would disappear eventually, like in real life.

I had mentioned something like this on another thread about running out of chakra. I completely think than when a) your body is completely / almost completely depleted of energy, and b) when you have been injured in a certain way, you should definitely get debuffs specific to the injury. For example, being hit in the head, and seeing black spots, or getting hurt on one leg, and limping slightly (would reduce max speed, depending on how bad the injury was).
