Title: Dissolution
Post by: Nas on October 26, 2015, 20:35:15
(DISCLAIMER  8)
ehm this particular story is not set in a specific timeline so the ages of the characters in this story may not be exactly "cannon" per say lol. It is set in the hidden Thunder for now but may expand as the story finds itself so there's no specific tone or theme one minute it may be filled with humour and end up incredibly dark lol so eh enjoy this short intro.)

Prelude:
”Why is it so hard to breathe?", was all that ran through his mind, he knelt down clutching his chest, the sky was dark, rain poured down washing blood down his face. His vision blurred, his hearing muffled, his throat filled with blood, he struggled to pick himself up while he gasped for air.

Footsteps approached, each step dragged in the heavily soaked dirt. Dry laughter could be heard but just barely.
He lifted his head in attempt to point out where this sound came from, but all that his eyes could make out was a dark blur that grew bigger as it came closer, taking shape of a shadow.

The shadow decreased in height as if crouching down. The man tried to speak, the very least mutter words but all that came out was blood. The shadow spoke in an almost musical tone,"Sh sh you'll strain yourself, you've done enough, it's time for you to rest now", with that the shadow's head came closer to the man and with a kiss to the forehead everything slowly went black.

Errand:
"Ugh why am i here" moaned Isei Himitsu, "I shouldnt have become chunnin" Isei continued to grumble, "Isei get over here!!" Kazuki Himitsu shouted. Peeking from his cover, Isei instantly ducked back attempting to cover himself from the fireballs being blasted towards him. Sighing Isei jumps from his cover, dodging fireballs as he ran towards the others, "become chunnin they said, life is easier they said" Isei thought to himself not paying attention to the fireball that hit the bottom of his hooded jacket setting it ablaze.

"Isei you're on fire!!", Isei's eyes lit up, shaking his head, he looked down at his body only to see flames, rushing to take his jacket off Isei dives into cover behind a wall bumping into Kurai Himitsu, who was grinning, struggling to keep himself from bursting out with laughter.
"This is the last time I go on a 'errand' with the two of you", patting himself as he stands up now clothes with a fitted mesh shirt.

"We're gonna have to take these guy out quickly, Isei and Kurai attack head on I'll cover you from above" Kazuki spoke calmly as he peeked around the wall, bombarded by fireballs he could only count seven or eight of them. Isei unsheathed his katana slightly, " these rogues are starting to irritate me anyways", Kurai began to stretch "about time I'm growing old here". Kazuki eyed Isei's katana "We are not to kill anyone only capture", Isei rolled his eyes and sheathed his katana  "Sure sure".

A smoke bomb is thrown,Kazuki jumps into the air, forming hand seals, his hands begin to glow a light blue, sparks of electricity began to crawl up and around his fingers, bolts of lightning start shooting out from his hands. The rogues were in a state if confusion, distracted by Kazuki's jutsu.

Kurai and Isei burst out from the smoke, with insane speed, although Kurai was noticbly faster than Isei. Infusing his feet with lightning released chakra, Isei caught up quickly, by the time the rogues noticed the duo it was too late, Kurai drops to the ground sliding his feet first, connecting with the first rogue, hitting his shin, the rogue thrown foward over Kurai, is given no time to land, Kurai throws multiple punches to his chest. His movements are almost impossible to see as Kurai suddenly appears  in front of the next rogue using only his right leg, Kurai kicks the rouge in the stomache , lifting the rogue up over his head with the same foot, slaming the rogue to the ground.

One of the rouges noticed this and began form seals but what stop by a grumpy Isei whos face suddenly appeared in front of the rogue, the rogue attempted to jump backwards but was instantly elbowed at the back of the head by Isei who still had his right hand on his sheathed katana. charging up his body Isei quickly took care of the rest of the rogues Kurai didn't get to. In shock the leader turned back to flee but froze, is eyes wide as beads of sweat rolled down his head. "Going somewhere?" Kazuki spoke coldly as he slowly stood up from where he was sitting.

Your punctuation needs some work, you missed a lot of commas and some full stops and a typo "Sighing Isei jumps from his cover, dodging fireballs as he ran towards Isei" but other than that, it was truly amazing! Thanks for making me so badass XD!

Effortless:
This is it"......
Kazuki beckoned his team to stop, while he surveyed the area, he turned to face the rogue they had captured " your assistance has been greatly appreciated" and with a swift hit to the neck the rogue slumped to the ground unconscious. Isei frowned with a confused expression on his face, " this is in the land of fire shouldn't the hidden Inferno or at least the hidden ash be taking care of this?", "We've got our own motives for being here, and the hidden Inferno are as bad as the rogues anyways and the hidden ash keep to themselves." Kurai explained as he counted his kunais.

" This is quick infiltrate and retrieve mission, we enter silently and use minimal force unless there is no option we use any means necessary to complete this mission, kill them all if need be ". Kurai stood up putting his kunai inside the pouch strapped to his leg. Isei crouched slightly wondering how long it would take to reach  the hidden thunder, "We do have one slight problem though, we have limited Intel on the layout of the cave, all we know is that these rogues do not use tags or set traps but with the rest of the way we're on our own" Kazuki nodded to see if the rest understood, with both Kurai and Isei nodding back in reply they teleported.

Two rogues guarded the entrance into cave, one rogue pushed the other on the chest and an argument broke out between them, the ninjas looked at each other confused with a shrug they took advantage of the argument going on and struck. With their backs turned towards the ninjas, the rogues could not see it coming, knocked out mid argument. The cave was dark and unusually hot, a warm air passed through the cave like the cave itself was breathing. The three ninjas moved deeper into the cave evading or knocking out rogues the came in contact with making sure to hide each body, the deeper they went the hotter it seemed to get.

The cave began to change, rocks were exchanged for some kind of grey sticky material which slowed them down considerably. Kazuki paused stopping both Isei and Kurai as they reached a strange type of grey vault, Kazuki looked around suspiciously something felt wrong and the other two could feel it too. "This isn't right this is too easy, we should fall back" Kazuki edged back from the vault "what but we're so close, we can handle whatever they throw at us" Kurai reassured Kazuki. Before they could argue about it the ground began to suck them in and the walls behind them blocking them in, Isei pulled out his Katana attempting to cut the material but to know success and before they knew it they were surrounded and bounded by this material.

(Finally finished with exams and that so i should have more time for this, more to come)

Captivity:
“It’s been a while right?”
“What are we supposed to do with them?”

Two rogue ninjas sat at a table in front of the three shinobis who are unconscious, in a small dark room with only two lit candles one near the shinobis and one at the table. The room was made of wood but part of the cave could still be seen.

“Don’t know, don’t care as long as they’re going to be taken care of soon, doesn’t feel right having these shinobis here.” A rogue ninja with a long scar along is left eye and messy ginger hair walked towards the three ninjas, which are held by the same material that captured them. The rogue smirked and grabbed Kurai’s hair and pulled it attempting to wake him up, the rogue grunted as Kurai showed no reaction.

“What do you think you’re doing Hatae?” A deep voice spoke calmly from behind, the scarred rogue let go of Kurai’s hair staying silent. An unusual tall bulky man with golden long hair tied back in a neat ponytail and dressed differently than the other rogues entered the room.
“You were told to watch them not to touch them.” The man spoke in a very calm tone almost majestically.

Hatae turned around to face this man that looked almost twice his size and glared at him “Who do you think you are Junzo to think you can give orders to me.”  Hatae was much smaller compared to Junzo. Junzo held the same blank expression he had when he walked into the room, he gave Hatae’s words no attention and instead looked over him to see the state of the three shinobis held captive.

Hatae became angrier as he felt ignored. “You guys think you can come here and boss us around, giving orders as if you own us.” Hatae began to raise his voice. Junzo stepped forward, ignoring Hatae and focused on the three shinobis.  Aggravated, Hatae pulled out his kunai and pointed it at Junzo “Do not ignore me!!” He screamed, Junzo continued to move closer, Hatae flinched slightly taking a defensive stance. Junzo continued to advance, angered Hatae lunged to attack but froze midway as Junzo simply walked past him paying no attention. Junzo stood over the shinobis watching them carefully.

Isei groaned as he pulled his head up, and opened his eyes, “Have a good nap?” Kurai chuckled. Isei looked around, two rogues sat at a table to their right one with a long scar along his eye and tall man with golden hair stood by the wall.
Isei shook his head and moaned “guys I think I’m getting a cramp.” Hatae turned still angered by Junzo scowled at Isei. “Woah what’s your problem you’re not the one being held against your will” Isei replied rolling his eyes.

Kurai grinned and coughed, “can I get a drink, preferably some sake.” Hatae stood up aggressively. “Keep your mouth shut!!” Kurai smirked pleased with the reaction he got “pretty please.” Kurai pouted, Hatae’s right eye twitched then pulled out his kunai and walked towards Kurai. “Hatae...” Junzo spoke calmly warning Hatae. Hatae dismissed the warning and turned back towards the table he sat at. “Now I know your name….Hatae.” Kurai winked “Shh someone is coming.” Kazuki whispered focusing on the door at the opposite side of the room.

The door opened and a small cold wind entered the room, the two rogues looked away and shuddered. “I see our guest are awake now.” A cold tone spoke from behind the door and a chill went down everyone’s’ spine except for Junzo. The three shinobi watch sternly at the door, waiting to match the voice with a face.

Escape:

A man slides in from behind the door. Tall, though not much taller than Junzo. He was covered in a black hooded robe. A red and white mask hid his face. The word Yang was engraved on the left side of the mask. His eyes were barely noticeable through the slits on the mask, just darkness. The white scarf he wore around his waist seemed to glow, only slightly.

The man steps forward. Towards the ninjas, each step he took were so graceful it felt as though he was simply gliding towards them. Without moving any other part of his body but his feet, he advances within touching distance of them. Stops and studies them.

“You are from the hidden lightning,” he says morosely. “The Gems of the Himitsu. I must admit I was not expecting you. Why did you come?”

There was silence. No one could speak, they could feel it, the murderous aura that poured and flowed around-through this man. This man was not part of the mission.

“I don’t take kindly to be ignored,” the man says softly. He crouched slightly, moving closer to the bounded up ninjas. All three keeping their sights on him.

“Such sadness,” the man sighs, and there’s genuine pity in his tone. “Tied up. Starved. Confused. No idea who we are or why we’re here.” He pauses and doubt crosses his expression. “You don’t know who I am, do you, lightening shinobi? This was not supposed to happen, your 'intel' on showed you of a small band of rogues.”

The ninjas still could not speak, but he reads the ignorance in their faces and steps backwards. “I thought so,” he says. “But do not worry, your confusion shall be short-lived. The rogues you sought out will be upon you and all will soon finish. There will be pain great pain – but then….” He pauses and leans in closer and spoke softly. “ - Then the total peace of the beyond. Death will as a blessing.”

“Wh-Who are you?” Kazuki asked sternly, forcing the words out from his dry throat.

“The beginning and end of your greatest sorrows,” the man replies. He says it plainly – not a boast. He stood and turned his back towards the ninjas. Without any sound he slides out the room, identical to the way he entered.

As soon as he departed the room, the atmosphere changed completely. Everything returned to the way it was, the cold air had disappeared. The colour of the rogues returned. Junzo nodded at the two rogues, and clicked his fingers.

The ninjas fell face first on the rocky ground. The material the held them up was gone, now only bounding their arms. Junzo without looking back leaves the room, leaving the rest to the rogues.

Hatae grunted, grabbing both Kurai and Isei by their hair, beckoning them forward. The other rouge grabbed Kazuki by the arms pushing towards the door. The ninjas were led out into a dark corridor, poorly lit candles were held on the walls of the corridor. The further they moved the narrower the corridors were.

Isei sighed and grinned. “Sooo… when do you think we’re gonna be rescued?” Hatae jerked Isei forward. “Shut up!” “Don’t think we are,” Kazuki replied with a slightly relived expression. Ahead of the others. “Shame isn’t it?” Kurai giggled.

“Guess we have no choice then.” Isei moaned. Hatae grabs Isei tightly, “I said shu - ” Cut short – Kurai head-butts Hatae. Freed from Hatae's grip, without time to react the sudden blow he received, Isei drops low, spins his leg, knocking Hatae off his feet, gasping with shock. Hatae rolls backward, collides head first with a wall, knocked out.

With incredible speed, Kazuki jumps forward, grabbing the rogue with his legs, crushing the rogue against the wall. His legs tighten around the neck of the rogue. The rogue struggles, tries to pull himself away. Kazuki squeezes his legs, the rogue no longer able to fight back passes out.

“There’s no time we must find a way out now!!” Kazuki orders, and runs in the opposite direction they came. The others willing obliged and follow.

Taking sharp turns, moving in random directions, they run. They move towards a black door with a small barred window at the top. Paying no attention to it, they run past it. With the corner of his eye, Isei spots something… or someone through the bars of the door. He shakes his head, and focuses on the way ahead of them.

Madness

Screaming. Deafening cries. Eyes twitching, wondering who's making such a noise and why they aren't being silenced. Then I realise it's me screaming...

I focus on making the screams stop and they slowly die away to a whimper. I don't know how long I've been roaring, but my throat's dry and painful, as though I've been testing its limits for days. Weeks. Or months without pause...

Pain was all I could feel, and the pain only seemed to increase. My body would not move. My eyes would not open. I could barely think. All I could do was scream. Till I could scream no more...

Lost, spiralling time. Muddled happenings. Flitting in and out of reality. Momentarily here, then gone, reclaimed by madness and pain...

Every now and then the pain would jolt me awake. But just not enough time to think or grasp my situation, but did I care did I really want to know my situation...

The lower part of my face was moving-upwards, I’m smiling. The screaming stopped but not the pain. This glorious pain, the pain kept me company, my only friend in this dark place that was…
Where am I. was a question that needed to be answered as soon as I could open my- I tune out A ball of madness condenses around me, trapping me, devouring me, cutting off all but the pain…

I don’t know where the pain come from, I feel it, I feel it everywhere like I’m being prodded, stabbed, sliced, tortured and experimented on. But I don’t mind as long as the pain continued…

I’m awake again, the pain is back, my only friend, but something else came with it. I can feel, my body feels wet and cold. My chest feels exposed, I feel empty. I don’t like this, all I want is the pain…

My fingers twitch, my toes wriggle, what is happening I can move parts of my body, I should be happy but I am not, I can’t. The pain won’t let me. Next are my eyes, they want freedom but I fight back. I am content with this, the darkness…

My head shakes, my body is revolting, trying to break free, the blinding light brings pain, a pain my body, my head does not want. Wait my eyes, they’re open. How long have they been open is another question…

I can see it-everything. I look down all I see is red liquid around me. Soaked into my skin, flowing down my body and dripping on to the ground, a puddle of this liquid lies below me. Is this my blood? There are patches of a white cloth all over me or what used to be white…

My eyes shoot open again. There is someone here, behind me. There’s a sound of sharp clinging and I feel it. My back feels it, pain, more pain. I smile. My vision gets blurry, the person is in front of me now. But I can’t see what this person is…is this even a person…

There’s noise a lot of noise like panic. I look up, there was a metal door in front of me. I could still see through due to the windowed part at the top of the door. There’s someone coming, more than someone many someones. And in a hurry, there are three of them. Are they coming to me? They move past in a blur. Except for one who paused. But he moved on like the others. Did he see me?

It all stopped, the pain gone, everything was silent…

Home Sweet Home

The sun stood out looking down over its people, this was unusual in the Hidden Thunder. But no one questioned it. Kids were out playing, adults were out doing their daily routines. The Hidden Thunder was a buzz of activity this morning. Everyone was…

Bang bang bang!

Bang!….Isei groans, rubbing his head. Falling off his bed wasn’t his preferred way to wake up. Isei picked himself up cursing under his breath, moaning as he trod down his stairs. Bang bang! “Hold on I’m coming.” Rubbing his eyes as he opened his door.

A woman stood there, hands ready to knock again. She was a year or so younger than Isei. Long black hair, tied back into a ponytail. Light blue eyes that seemed to twinkle. With a scar over her left eye. She wore a black flak jacket, extending over her left shoulder, underneath was a red t-shirt with the Himitsu emblem on both sides of her arms.

“Satomi…to what do I owe the pleasure?” Isei yawned as he ran his hand through his messy short white hair, wearing only a dark blue boxer and blue slippers.

Satomi smiled, her blue pupils twirling as if dancing in her sockets. “The kage needs to see you.” She spoke with a soft and sweet voice, her gaze move from the top of Isei to the bottom. “When you’re ready.” In an instant she was gone.

Isei tilted his head up, watching the sky as he scratched the back of his head, closed his door and sighed.
“Home sweet home.”

The weather was hot, almost too hot. Isei wipes his forehead looking up at the sky again, his brown skin looked slightly darker than normal. Children run past Isei, each one bumping into him. “Run Isei, run!” The children shouted back. Without another moment’s thought, Isei is hit from behind, a bony impact to the back. Carried away by a rampaging animal.

Eyes wide, watering. Mouth open, swallowing dirt. Arms flailing. Isei was taken by surprise. The village moved past his eyes in a blur. Parents held the ears of their children as curses rain down around and his four legged kidnapper.

Everything suddenly stops, it feels as if time itself has been paused. All the noises that were around them only moments ago were gone, even the animal had gone quiet. The village was silent as night itself.

“Having fun Isei?” A loud yet soft voice spoke behind them. Everything returned to normal. Isei pushed himself off the animal unto the ground, landing on his back. Isei glared at the boar like animal then to the man holding the boar by its tail. Isei’s faced eased up. “Thanks Remi.” He said with sigh. Reminance, tall, black spiky hair and a face that could soothe the soul of any man, with a voice to match. Smiled gently, somehow managed to tame the boar and put it to sleep.

“Don’t you have somewhere to be Isei?” Reminance asked, walking slowly around the sleeping boar. Isei pulled himself up, patting himself all over. “Oh yeah I do…” He paused and raised a brow at Reminance continued to smile. “Oh don’t look at me like that. I just spoke to the kage and the others are waiting for you.”
“The others?”

“I guess we’ll just have to start without him.” The kage sighed shuffling through the papers on her desk. “100 ryo says Isei is still asleep” Kurai grinned as he nudged the side of Kazuki with his elbow. Kazuki rolled his eyes sarcastically and replied with a low chuckle.

“Before we start with what I called you here for, let me first congratulate you on your recent mission and well not dying.” The kage continued with a chuckle. She had her own sense of humour that only she understands especially when it comes to her jokes.

Kazuki and Kurai shared am awkward glance.

The kage had an abnormally loud voice every word was powerful.“Now we’ve sent scouts to the cave, although we expect these rogues to have deserted it by now. The man you encountered, was a man our ANBU squads have been hunting for some time now. We were not expecting you to face him on this mission you were given.” She takes a deep breath then continues.

“He moves from village to village like a shadow. His motives are unknown but...”

Cut short by the sudden slam of the door, into the room. Isei barges into the room, panting with each step he took. “Hope I didn’t miss much.”

Ignoring the interruption the kage continued from where she left off, raising her voice even louder. “…But with each village and town he passes through, people end up killed or missing. He has yet to pass through our village, so we think. But we are expecting him to pass through here soon. For the next few days I need you, I need everyone to be stay alert. Especially since he now knows the three of you.

“We do not know the way he works but we must assume the worst, so just be aware of your surroundings…not that you need me to tell you that.”

Isei slumped to the floor tired. Both Kazuki and Kurai kept a straight face but their eyes betrayed them, as their eyes gleaned with excitement. Accepting the challenge.

Weeks went by. Slower than ever. Ninjas in the Hidden Thunder were on edge. They knew something was coming, they could feel it. But they didn’t know what it was or what it would bring. But they knew it wouldn’t be good.

The villagers were oblivious to this. Though some could feel that something was wrong in the air, but they chose to ignore it, feeling safe in the village. And carried on as normal.

The chunnin exams were to be held soon. Hosted by the Hidden Hill village. If anyone wanted to attack the villages that would be the opportune time. The kage and her counselors held debates. Whether to attend the chunnin exams this year. But in a time of mutual distrust between villages, the Hidden Thunder decided on attending the exams, in order to avoid any skeptical eye.

The kage of the Hidden Thunder refused to subject herself and her village to paranoia. Did they really have anything to fear?  Hey could protect themselves if anything were to happen.

No one knew anything about this man, not his name, his face or his background. He had never been seen in whole, till the Hidden Thunder ninjas were unfortunate enough to be the first ones to encounter him. Even if it was by chance.

He was everywhere and at the same time nowhere.

Months passed, and all the villages were busier than they have been for the past 2 years. Villagers and ninjas alike buzzed with excitement, as they set up to travel to the Hidden Hill village.

The Hidden Hill village was one of the biggest villages, if not the biggest. But it was also a neutral one. A village with no intentional enemies and only temporary allies.

Genins from all over were lined up. Handing forms to officials. As they were moved and gathered in a hall

“Welcome!” A voice bellowed down at the genins.

(An extra long chapter due to the last one being very short...enjoy ^^)

Chunnin Exam begins!:
There was so much noise being made. Loud chatter from all around. Young genin jittered in excitement, their first chunnin exam. Heads filled with confidence and images of becoming chunnin. Genin teams lined up to hand over their chunnin forms to the officials. With each team handing up their forms, they were moved into a small hall.

The hall was circular in shape, with doors dotted around the walls of the hall. The room quickly filled up with eager genin. Head spun round, taking it all in, but there was nothing to take in and disappointment quickly set in as the room was empty, except for the doors and a landing that overlooked them.

Hours went by without any word from the officials. The genins grew tired and weary, some simply dozed off while others were on the verge of giving up all together and leave the hall.

The genins had separated themselves between their villages, setting themselves into small groups around the hall.

The Hidden Thunder genins kept themselves busy, playing small games within themselves to pass the time.

“What about him Saeko?” A Thunder genin asked his teammate, grinning wildly, pointing towards another village genin.  A Hidden Inferno genin.

The Inferno genin wore an impromptu flak jacket, a red jumpsuit, missing a right sleeve, most likely ripped off. A red lapel hung over his right leg.  Red symbol under his left, representing some sort of clan from his village. His eyes moved around slowly without topping once, his dark red hair pointing upwards.

“Looks like he is trying too hard to look like a jounin, mot much to say really. The way he keeps looking round smugly, he probably thinks he has the chunnin rank in the bag.” Saeko answered, reluctant to participate in the game of judging other genins based on looks.

The other Thunder genins laughed between themselves, looking around for their next victim. But stopped immediately. An argument erupted between some genins.

The hours that had gone buy of waiting around, had caused some genins to be on edge, the splitting into groups also caused hostility between the genins, especially those whose villages were not on good terms with each other.

Kunai were pulled out without a moment’s thought, as the arguing genins stepped close to each other, itching to test themselves in a fight.

It was difficult to identify which village genin were arguing. A circle of genins had gathered around to spectate the fight that was about to happen.

“Saeko what’s going?” The Thunder asked again, grinning wildly, getting up to his feet as he watched the commotion.

“I can’t tell, Hide let’s get closer.” Saeko replied with a shrug and moved in closer.

“Damn Volcano ninjas! It has only been a few hours and they’ve already started to cause trouble.” One of the genin shouted out within the crowd.

“Who said that? Come out here you coward!” An aggravated Volcano genin shouted back.

“Looks like we’ve found ourselves a couple of troublemakers uhn?!!” A voice bellowed from above. Amplified by speakers. Every genin instantly froze, turning around simultaneously, all looking upwards at the landing above them.

A short man sat on the edge of the landing, his hair pointing in every direction, with eyebrows to match. His beady eyes danced around its sockets scanning each genin in the hall. He wore a black official’s uniform and had as a small microphone connected through his ear. “I can’t say that was not expected but not this early, I had my money on a few more hours. I guess I just lost 10 ryo.”

The genins all shared a look of confusion, unsure what to think of what the little man meant. “Wait are you telling us that we’ve been stuck here for hours all because of some stupid bet!?” The Volcano genin shouted up in anger. Supported by the other genins. Enraged with thy just heard.

The tiny man laughed. “Exactly!” But stopped to rethink his answer. “Wait no, not exactly. This was…eh merely to test your patience.”  The short official chuckled proud of his excuse.

“Liar!!” Another genin shouted, pointing up at the pint-sized man. “As shinobi of our great nation. We must learn to exercise patience or order to preserver in our line of duty.” The tiny man grinned to himself sure while he expanded on hi excuse, ignoring the genins below.

“Does he really think anyone here is going to believe him?” Saeko asked his teammates, rolling his eyes at the dwarf like man.

“True my young friend, I guess I should stop joking around!” The child sized official replied, his tiny pupils focused on Saeko. The young genin flinched, not expecting the pocket-sized official to have heard him.

The babyish man stood up and raised his little arms. “Welcome!!” His voice louder than ever. Many of genins grimaced, some covered the ears with their hands.

“Now enough with the pleasantries. There will be three exams to test your abilities as shinobi. The fourth will be an old fashioned arena style battle. Your kages will be watching and …well so will everybody else so don’t embarrass yourselves.” He took a deep breath and continued.

“The first exam is very simple…almost too simple. As you can see there are doors with numbers all around this hall, each leading to your next exam. And all you really have to do is get the specific key that opens the specified door for your team. Simples!! Oh and you have 24 hours. Plenty of time.”

Without another word the minute man turned around and vanished leaving his laughter behind. The landing crumbled, crashing onto the hall’s floor. Leaving the genins confused.

Hours passed by. The hall was empty finding these keys were more difficult than they expected. “With 240 genin, and 10 doors, only 10 teams can advance.” Hide giggled looking around at the genins frantically running around the empty hall looking for keys. “We made a mistake, from the moment we entered the hall, we should have paid more attention to our surroundings.” Saeko frowned, sat with his teammates.

Another hour. It began to seem like a lost cause for some, an impossible challenge.

“I found one!!” Shouted a genin, who was standing near the rubble that was once the landing. The genin laughed out loud picking up the he found. Unaware of what he had just done. The hall went quiet all that could be heard was the laughter of the genin.

The genin froze, realizing what he had just done, looking up from his hand where he held the key tightly. Every genin had their eyes on him. Bloodthirsty eyes that focused on his hands.

The genin had no time to regret the decision to announce his finding, without even blinking twice 100 genin attacked.

( I had alot of trouble writing this part, donno why it just didnt feel right but i kept it just to make things move along)

Exam 1 :
[/b]
There’s an uproar. Genin intent on passing the test. Intent on being the first to pass. 100 genin fought between each other. A battle royale, the prize, one key, for one door.

Saeko stood near his teammates. Hide and Mura. Hide was the shortest of the two also the most enthusiastic. Best friend to Saeko. He was always hyper and smiling. Everyone who met him though it was odd even his teammates. It was almost like his face was shaped to hold a permanent smile.

Mura was the normal one in her team. A normal life, normal family. She kept the team sane. The kindest girl they knew, although she did not look it. Her dark long hair and bangs that almost coverd her eyes, gave a sort of sinister feel from her. Her cold facial features always made people feel uncomfortable around her.

Saeko never spoke much. He found it difficult to make normal conversation. The only things that usually come out of his were stats and other smart stuff. His teammates were the only ones he could speak freely with.

Hours went by, and the battles raged on. Half the hall destroyed. Every so often a body would drop, most likely dead. But something was wrong. Saeko could feel it, something was out of place, the hall looked different.

Saeko scanned around, many of the teams that were spectating or looking for the other keys during the battle, were gone! 6 doors had been opened!!

But how, when? Saeko kept asking himself. How did he let himself get so distracted that he didn’t notice the sudden disappearance of those that were behind him? The teams behind them were frantically searching for the keys. Except for one team, who sat by themselves watching the dwindling numbers fall in battle.

“Guys we need to get moving now.” Saeko addressed his teammates, head spinning, scanning the building all over. “Well there’s still the problem of the hall being empty. Where do we look?” Hide questioned, chuckling to himself.

“Not necessarily. Remember the landing that fell down, that’s where the other genin found the first key.” Saeko’s eyes narrowed, fixed on the rubble that was once a landing.

“So you want us to go through them?” Mura asked pointing towards the group of genin that were still going at each other’s throats.

Hide bounced on the spot, flexing his arms. “Finally. I could feel my bones creaking.” Without another word the moved. Fast and swift, moving through the masses, eyes fixed one point.

They avoided any unnecessary fights, dodging each blade, fist and leg that swung at them. They reached the landing, and began searching. “There’s nothing here and we’re running out of time.” Mura pointed out.

Saeko raised his head, beads of sweat rolled down his face. He didn’t know what to do. He scanned the hall one last time. His eyes stopped, the team that were sitting by themselves were gone. This time Saeko scanned the hall looking for them.

He froze as he found them, they were standing in front of the 7th door which was now opened, and they stepped through. Saeko was sure they had been sitting in the same position the whole time the exam started, then how did they get a key.

Saeko’s face lit up. “To the door now!” Not letting his teammates question him. He moved ahead of them, to the nearest closed door. Saeko waited at the door for his teammates to catch up. His eyes moved around the door, scanning it from top to bottom.

He pressed his hand on the door, applying pressure. The door moved. His eyes grow wide, and with more strength he pushes the door open.

(While we're waiting on America's arena stories i decided to just throw this here lol :P )

Rook:

There’s an unexpected thud as the crash into the room falling over each other. The room wasn’t almost half the size of the domed hall. The room was well lit. Nothing special about it but the five chess boards in the middle of the room.

Each board made with a different material. On the opposite side of the room was a door, blocking the door a man, another official. He was significantly taller than the last official. His black jelled hair combed sideways. He wore thick square glasses that covered half his face, showing his wiry grin.

He looked down at his watch checking his non-existent watch. Pulling his head back up, he turned to the genins who barged into the room. “Well about time.”

The genins picked themselves up. Embarrassed smiles on their faces except Hide who continued to grin happily. “We were about to call it a day.” The official spoke, nodding his head towards the corner of the room. A team of genins stood there, sneering at them.

“Ok. Let’s get this started. It’s quite simple really, a game of good ol’chess. But there’s a catch, well there has to be right or this wouldn’t be much of a test.” The official moved across his side of the room as he continued to explain.

“One of you from both teams will have to play chess on all 5 boards. Preferably your smartest teammate. While the other two fight it out.”

Both teams took a quick glance at each other. “So whichever team knockouts the other team wins. Which player wins three games out of the five chess boards wins.”

The obvious choice for the chess games was Saeko. But with only a handful of experiences in chess, he was anxious. Both teams took their positions. Saeko and his opponent stood on opposite sides of the chess board. The others were further away, readying themselves for a fight.

Saeko’s opponent threw is arm forward, causing him to flinch. “Good luck.” He held out his hand smiling. Saeko raised a brow, unsure if he was being mocked or if the guy was being sincere. Wearily, he met his opponent’s hand, shaking it, watching his eyes.

A bubble encloses them as they sit down. “This is to make your game less distracting.” The fight had already began, but there was no sound coming from outside the bubble. Everything moved slowly, very slowly. Each punch, kick, dodge and block could be seen clearly.

“Your move.” Saeko tore his eyes away from his teammates. He ran his eyes over the five boards again. Picking up a pawn from the far right board, he moved it a space forward.

Saeko found it hard to concentrate, his fear for teammates, grew into fear of failing the exam, into never getting the chance to become chunnin. Taking short pauses to glance at his teammates. Just like that the game on the far right was beyond saving.

Saeko tried distracting his opponent, but it only took a few moves to finish Saeko off…”Checkmate.”

“Then there were four.”

Saeko tried to keep play confined to the board on his left – taking the contest one game at a time – but his opponent wouldn’t oblige. He made a few moves on that board, then switches to another, then another.

Though Saeko had a free run of the boards, he couldn’t make more than one move on any board until his opponent had replied to it. So, if Saeko made a move on the middle board, and his opponent then moved a piece on the board to Saeko’s far left, Saeko can’t make a second move on the board in the middle -  Saeko had to wait for his opponent to move one of his pieces on it. He’s tied by the same rules as Saeko, of course, but it felt like the odds were stacked in his opponents favour, as if Saeko is the only one restricted.

The game moved slowly and quietly. “Checkmate.” Saeko wins on the board to the far left.  Both genins were nervous. Sweating, fidgeting, both trying to concentrate on all boards at once. Saeko didn’t notice his opponent’s shaky moves. Saeko’s eyes constantly flicking to his teammates locked in slow-motion combat.

Each board a stalemate. Every move taken hit a brick wall. Both genins frustrated. Saeko took a deep breath. This wasn’t like him. He closed his eyes, racing through every move and the most likely outcomes in his head.

His eyes burst open, with a grin his hands moved ferociously, catching his opponent off guard. “Checkmate.” The middle board was Saeko’s. Without pausing Saeko continued, leaving his opponent confused. In his eyes Saeko moved the pieces at random. His eyes spinning in its sockets as he tried to follow Saeko’s moves. Before he knew it. “Checkmate!!”

Everything stopped, the bubble around them vanished. Saeko jumped off his chair leaving his opponent, slumped, head down. His teammates bloodied and bruised, Hide’s smile never faltering. The fight had been going on for hours.

The official clapped slowly. “Congratulations, now please leave I’ve got things to do.”

(Ok lool soooo its been awhile...decided to bring this back mostly to improve on my writing but i had also soo much planned for this to let it go to waste. Now to welcome you lovely lads and lasses back, i put out a little chapter not too long to reintroduce you ...kinda. I do tho really want you guys to read all the other chapters to get a feel for this story ...anyways yea.)

Welcome back:

Some days had passed. The final stage of the exams was soon to begin. The last stage had been delayed to "allow the Genin to recover from the battles and stress of the previous stages", that was the statement released to the public.
But there was a completely different reason. It started when some of the Genin who had failed the previous stages of the exam had not shown up for their check ups. A behind the scene investigation started after a team of finalist from the Hidden Snow had disappeared.
In an attempt provoke public concern and fear, the Kages agreed to continue  with the last stage of the exam while they kept the disappearances quiet.
The hidden hill once again in a frenzy as the sun burned bright that morning. Crowds surrounded the giant arena while they shoved and pushed each other in haste to get a seat inside the arena. Merchants and brokers from around the various nations, all in one place fighting for their voice to be heard among the masses. As they shout out their goods and products like in a common marketplace and attempt to catch wondering eyes.

Every villager able to breathe and walk, wanted to be there, to be able to watch the new batch of promising, some would say prodigies, the future Chunin of their respective village. If the dead could they would.

The Arena was filled, not one seat was left unoccupied, excitement surged through the arena passing like electricity from one person to the other, as 8 out of the original 14  finalist arrive and line up. The arena was circular in shape, the ground covered with trees, rock and debris, to simulate the feel of an actual battlefield. Typical of the Hidden Hill.

The Thunder team Saeko, Hide and Mura, lined up one after the other. Next to them were Genin from the Volcano, two of them to be precise, a result of one of their teammate failing the previous stage. The third team were the unusual Genin Saeko had spotted at the beginning of the exam.

The crowd roared as a famous Hidden Hill Jounin emerged out from one of the giant trees surrounding the Genin.
"Welcome Everyone!!" The Jounin shouted out as he announced his presence. The Jounin flicked the stray strands of hair off slicked back hair into place, as his white teeth gleamed through his lips smiling into the crowd.
"Now the rules for the final stage are simple, the last two standing will progress to the next round, where they will face off on a one on one battle." The jounin paused as spun around to face the genin, with a smirk he continued.
"So yes it IS a rumble, work together or not only two of you eight will have the chance to becoming an official Chunin."
Smiling softly, he turned back towards the crowed, "Now shall we start?" The crowed roared once again in reply. The jounin accepted their response as a yes and with a soft wink he disappeared.

With all eyes on these talented young ninjas the final stage of the exam began.

(Okay soooo its been a really busy two weeks for me...this part should've been posted sooner and for that  I is sorry :3...an epic battle awaits next chapter ;) )

Partisan:

A slight breeze blew past. Silence over took. Movements were still. All three teams stood in place. Eyes moved as they waited for one of them to make the first move.
The Volcano team had pushed further back from the rest of the two teams, missing one of their team members they were afraid, afraid to be rushed as soon as the fight started. The thunder team had moved back slightly, moved into their battle formation, putting them in a position to have all eyes on their opponents. Both teams subconsciously knew what they had to do. Without having to speak or form a plan within themselves, they knew the goal was to take out the other two teams before the fought between each other, for the Volcano team this was easier said than done.
The last team who wore the Hidden Ash symbol on them had not move from their original position. Instead the shortest and seemingly the youngest of all 8 genin of his team, a pale young boy with grayish blue pupils, sat down legs crossed, he's  katana longer than he was rested on his shoulder. He sat between two of his teammates who seemed to be protecting him, they wore all black with as sort of gas mask covering their face which made it hard to get a clear expression from both the very tall Ash genin.

The larger member of the the Volcano could not hold his frustration and eagerness, he threw a shuriken at the young Ash genin, but as if an automotive response, one of the standing Ash genin used his hand to stop it, allowing the shuriken to gouge deep into his palm. Without a moments pause, the Thunder genin simultaneously rushed for the two Volcano genin, seeing them as the most logical choice of attack while they were slightly distracted. they split into two groups,  Hide and Mura attack the smaller of the Volcano genin, suddenly appearing behind the genin with a swift powerful kick to the legs, Mura sent the genin's legs off the ground, without a chance to react the genin is slammed hard into the ground by another pair legs. The genin hit the ground with a hard initial force, pushing out blood through his lungs, out his mouth on impact.

The bigger Volcano genin unable to help the sudden attack on his teammate, is hit by a barrage of fireballs from Saeko pushing him back further away from his teammate. Attempting to hold his ground as he stuck his foot into the ground using an earth technique to keep him in place. In a fit of rage the Volcano genin did not think twice before he countered, quickly lifted his left leg up from the ground, with rocks and earth dragged up and stuck to his leg, he twisted the same leg sideways, kicking all the earth of his legs towards Saeko, turning into a small boulder, immediately spinning his body pulling out his other leg, with incredible speed and power he kicks another powerful boulder at Saeko, leaving no chance for Saeko to react, the bulky genin runs straight towards Saeko with huge strides and a powerful leap forward. Barely just blocking both boulders, Saeko is hit by a force even harder, which sent him flying backwards, crashing through a tree.

The fight on for another couple of minutes has the Volcano team fought back as hard as the could but to no avail, it was clear the Volcano were outnumbered and outmatched as they took some overwhelming damage between both teammates. The big Volcano genin barely keeping himself up as he stood on one knee, sighed as he coughed  up blood as his teammate drops unconscious beside him, raised his hand up admitting defeat. "Volcano genin Gin and Zinn are out!!" One of the jounin officials announced through the speakers that surrounded the arena.

Th e Thunder team bruised all over and slightly battered returned to their battle formation as the set their sights on the Ash team, who had not moved. The young pale Ash genin raises himself using he's giant sheathed katana to aid him up, he parts his long flowing grey hair to the side as hes pupils move from one Thunder genin to the other. The other two Tall Ash genin slowly raise their hand up, to surrender. Causing a huge shock through the Arena. "Ehmm R..Rem and Rin are out..." The official announced again this time unsure of himself.
The two Masked genin nod and walk back into the inner section of the arena.

The pale boy looks up emotionless and takes a step forward.....
