Title: Speed Limit
Post by: jedikan on December 24, 2014, 22:35:08
I find the whole accelerating mechanism quite interesting and  unique, so I was wondering if for each rank, there would be a speed limit perhaps because I doubt that Jounin and Genin would have the same top speed. Also, would it be possible to augment the speed limit through specialisations such as taijutsu for instance?

I heard in the chatbox that Skilled jonin barely reach 70km/h

Yeah we were talking and the very max you will be able to reach is about 70 km/h, unless your like minato or something. Otherwise, the speed will most likely raise as your progress in the game.

Maximum speed won't be determined by rank but by practice. The more you run at your maximum speed and tire your self out, the faster you get... however, this will happen at a very slow pace so that as it's mentioned above, only very few will reach the speed of 70 km/h.

So what would be everybody's starting maximum speed?

That'll be decided later. Many things will be decided later like the max speed , the max chakra/health etc. everything will be done so that the gameplay is balanced... so it isn't really possible to tell now what these values will be until we keep testing what works best.

Hey I don't wanna make a new topic so I thought I could post this here:

The amaterasu and fire-like jutsus like the ones the game has shouldn't be able to activate while running at the highest speeds what do you guys think?

Well, in the actual mmo only very few skilled jonin will be barely able to reach the maximum speed of 70 km per hour, if they have to be that skilled to even get there, I think they deserve the advantage of being able to run extremely fast and casting a powerful jutsu like Amaterasu at the same time.

Yeah, you may be right, but I'm not talking about those who run 70 km per hour only
As these posts say, The regular characters (not as skilled as those who run 70 km/h) will run in different speeds so those skills should not be able to be activated a their highest speed for example.
My Max speed is 55 km/h  but I can only activate the fireball jutsu at 30 km/h and below.

@rayzote Yes that has already been decided but not applied yet. Some jutsus will require you to be stationary while some will require you to be under a certian speed.

Fireball will have stand still if you want to use it.

So will fireball and firebreath be different things or is firebreath our equivalent for fireball?
