I don't know how in depth Taijutsu will be. But i was just curious. Will there be dodging at close range. I know you can dodge, but i was just wondering on how the mechanics on dodging will be like. For example (http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/5-18-2015/kGLBDw.gif)

Idea with techniques performed by special combinations like kick, kick, punch etc was pretty cool, but I'm wondering - This game gonna be dynamic, so I see it like this - Guy with NIN/Gen, runs as fast as he can and performs jutsus that he just spams at Tai guy, AOE of jutsus damage him even if not with full dmg he still gets it. Now lets see it from Tai guy - hes running to chase a guy and try to perform some combo but dodging is easy as hell.
My question is how it will work because NIN/Gen looks way easier than Tai, even if you won't directly hit you still can get someone with range of jutsu.
Suggestion - make something like mini stuns or quick time events when in close combat, or when confronting enemy in close combat make it impossible to use nin/gen just tai fight/dodges/run away stuff..
-
Tai user should have more speed than nin user imo. if they dont then i dont think tai user can get close enough to attack nin user.
-
I'm also very curious on how the taijutsu dynamics will work, everything we've been seen is specifically done for range attacks and ninjutsu.
The current movement dynamics aren't really good for close male attacks, chidori has been the perfect male attack in SLO because you're suppose to run and strike a single hit. As we all know, combos are gonna be part of tai user's skills.
You should know that some important skills, like Lee's, grab the enemy at very large speeds and throw them or make a very strong impact on the enemy by long combos and so on. I'd like to know how these mechanics would work on SLO's current controls, or whether they're going to change in some near future.
And maybe some skills that let you counter-attack; dodging an attack and then depending on the player's speed, the character would move behind the target and do something like the Omote Renge (Front Lotus)
-
I get what your saying rayzote, it's gonna be soo hard to use Taijutsu tbh. When you try a combo on someone, they can just jump and run. Then use ninjutsu
-
In that case, combos, like some of those "mini-stuns" would be really helpful. Like, have enemy players hit by Taijutsu be slowed down upon the first few impacts for a few seconds. This would level the playing field for Taijutsu users, though they'd still have to reach them with either:
1. Superior speed, which is pretty much the life-blood of taijutsu anyhow
or
2. Element of surprise via ambush, fake-out tactic, etc. Being able to get in close and fast would work well to any Taijutsu user's advantage.
However, there do appear to be some clear differences in the levels of Taijutsu usage, so I think the stuns should mostly just apply to strictly Taijutsu users, like it's a passive ability or something. That way, regular shinobi can still duke it out if they are low on chakra/weapons (since they don't have enough speed to dodge much), and Taijutsu specialists can take on higher-level opponents without having to chase them round the fuckin' moon before they even land a hit.

Ohhh yeah, obviously when they're hit with taijutsu there will be like a 1 second hit effect, where they look hurt like this (http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/5-19-2015/FV0Fzu.gif)

StrawHatSeyi Your idea isnt very good cause when a taijutsu user perform a jutsu when he is hitting other he is gonna be OP...
-
@deathroyal If you are a taijutsu user... You don't have to be good at taijutsu. You only want to use taijutsu because you like it, doesn't mean you're good at it.

Theres nothing really backing your argument. Just saying a taijutsu user hitting someone is OP, what do you mean by that? What is going to be OP about it? How is it different than a ninja using a elemental jutsu on someone and it being OP?
-
I remind that many players will also be something+Tai so there won't be only pure tai users;]
-
I will be a pure Taijutsu user @Heimdallr

If you are skilled at tai the enemy gets the hurting effect for longer and if you are not then it will be slight.
And if a player with something+tai attacks a tai-only user on close combat , he'll get owned.
-
Guys you didnt understand me..It will be OP if taijutsu users hits you and you cant avoid it..
-
You can avoid it. Everyone can use taijutsu. Plus there is a stamina bar. So there will be an end to the taijutsu users combos
-
I like the effect idea and I think that in some cases the person shouldn't get it. For example, if you're wearing very strong armor then taijutsu shouldn't effect as much as when you're wearing light armor. Also some people may have stronger bodies through training.
But over time the armor should get weakened or their body so the effect will start to happen.
Btw, taijutsu users will be faster, stronger and have more stamina than normal users. Well, people who focus on taijutsu.
-
@Kai I don't think there will be armour. Vreg said that there will be normal clothing obviously, and special clothing for clans and orgs. As for the body, yes I think it shouldn't hurt that much if you have worked your body well
-

Something like a "durability" attribute...

I think there should be armor, even in Naruto world advance ninja use heavy jackets or heavy armor on the chest, legs and arms to protect their body.
The normal clothing could be wear under the armor.

Agreed, but probably best for another topic eh?

its gonna be more difficult than that cz its not like the tijutsu user knows that he is landing the blow straight on the enemy
controls are going to be a major problem
