@Tameshi Hinode every mmoropg i have ever played has never cried about realizem!

i may be the only one that is thinking this way i don't know but in a game with medical ninja i don't see why there is all this fuss about perma death unless you play recklessly then i could see you getting upset but in my opinion  this game should not be just about mastering ninjutsu, taijutsu or genjutsu it should be about strategy in battle too.

@Reminance i would hope if you worked that long and were about to loose in a permadeath zone you would have the presence of mind to retreat from battle but i don't know maybe that thought never occurred to anyone

its not just dojutsu though  kimimaro's skeleton is a clan bloodline ability, so is chojis akimichi clan expansion jutsu, the mind transfer jutsu is another,kurans crystal style is another, the crystal ice mirror technique that haku used these are all clan specific kekkei genkai jutsu and  abilities. im sure these are what you were talking about but almost every kekkei genkai was clan related if fact i can't think of one that wasn't.

the game is INSPIRED by naruto, im not saying that kekkei genkai in the game need to be clan related im just saying they need to be called something else to avoid this kind of confusion. this is rare chakra in japanese:

and on the kunai topic let me ask this one questions how many direct hits with a jutsu like chidori do you thing a person should be able to take?

i say 1 its a finishing move its was developed for assassinations, fights in this game should not take 10 min. this is not a naruto fighting console game
its not like wow were you have buffs and armor and gear and weapons to increase you health and fighting ability

if a fight lasts longer then 5 min its probably because someone is with you healing you and providing support! one on one fight will last 3 min tops and that's if both are really good at defensive jutsu, blocking and evasion.
taijutsu fights may take alittle longer depending on strength of the taijutsu
but i see taijutsu that can finish a player in one combo as well.
this is also why i think ninjutsu user should not have immobilizing genjutsu abilities. then again if im running around with a active substitution jutsu ready it would still be fine.

if im a new player on my own and some one activates chidori in front of me im using a substitution jutsu and a smoke bomb and getting the hell out of there!!!!

a kunai may not be exciting or look very flashy and scary but it can seriously mess you up so blocking and evasion is key training for all shinobi. this is why i think after 2 or 3 direct hits with a kunai you should be pretty low on heal if not died if they were lucky shots.

and everyone understands im not saying to implement this in the current build right!!! multiple shots with chidori is fine right now simply because your limited to attack and simple dogue effects right now!!! i don't believe that will be the case with the alpha versions. at least I HOPE IT WONT!!

again one hit with a kunai i agree would not kill you immediately but it should be a effective attack not just something to distract.....there are a lot of ninjutsu and that you could learn to limit its effectiveness this takes skill you can make it fun to play without sacrificing realizam!!!!

@Shivraj  the only thing that made me think about bloodlines is that is canon to the
naruto universe- no one out side the hyuga clan was ever born with a byakugan same with sharingan or any kekkei genkai- if its not a bloodline trait i would recommend these special abilities be called something else to avoid this kind of confusion.

but this is not most mmorpg's in this game concept its not about getting better gear- and training your character in regards to how much damage you can take is not real either-
reality is what we are going for right!!! if you train your body for 7 months you will increase your survivability through evasion and experience at jutsu but not the amount of damage you can take. if a kunai could kill you before the 7 months then 7 months of push ups does not make you immune to a kunai attack.

I hadn't seen anything like this out there yet and i was just curious what the majority of the people on the forum what the game play to focus on.

personally if i had to pic only one i would say pvp but this game is unique in that with both villages and clans and organizations you have an opportunity to use them for different purposes

pvprs may want to stay around the villages and complete mission against other villages or  hunt rogues and the like

RPe players my want to totally immerse themselves in there clan carrying out missions and professions to earn rep for there clan and build there clan to the rank of legendary shinobi like the senju and uchiha clans

pve players in my opinion don't really belong in the shinobi world for they are not willing to put there life on the line for anything or anyone there content killing npc that 9 times out of 10 are weaker then you

but for the purposes of this poll you will only get one vote and you will not be able to change it.

 the kekkei genkai planned for now are the unique chakra natures, the legacy of a village. the abilities wont be randomly generated for every clan, even if a clan ends up with one. Also the buildings are instanced, you can have multiple clan meetings in the same building. btw most
ppl who are coming to derply pvp while naked with an afro will make organizations ( guilds) not clans.

   
ok so kekkei genkei have nothing to do with a clan in slo!!! that's fine.. i was just confused because back in january it looks like everyone thought that kekkei genkei would be blood related and that means with in a clan

and if this is the case then what is the kekkei genkei ideas topic for???

i don't agree with this either by the way.... but i do think kunai and ninja tools should do just as much damage to any player not protecting himself as any jutsu

2 things to clarify then

one, there clan has no real kekkei genkai there blood can simply be bonded to a blade that adds one chakra nature to it. for this effect to occur all 10 pints of blood must be bound to the weapon. so the clan could not benefit from this effect at all. 

two,as i don't think this could even be implemented in game it was mainly for story purpose to explain why her clan was hunted. i have a backstory ready to create the clan but i have tried to post the clan but i'm not code literate

From what I understood how the clan system will work, your idea can't be efficient.
Before starting: I haven't read the other posts to this topic so if this has been already reproach, I apologize.

This is what i remember: When you create your character, you choose your char name as well as his family name.
If someone else who creates his character introduces the same name in the family name box than a clan with that name will be automatically created, which you will be part of.

 Following your idea would mean those places should be placed randomly on the map and assigned to a clan resulting in a chaos everywhere along the map. After a few years of functioning, the game will be full of clan buildings everywhere.
and that was what i was thinking it seems like it would be all over place. letting players start their own clans seems like a good idea but of the volume of players that are expected if even.333 want  to make there own clan of there own then you're lookin at over 3,330 clans if .2 of these get kekkei genkai then we need to come up with 666 different kekkei genkai. this is also insane to try and program. not to mentions stories to go along with them. unless no one cares if there is a connection between kekkei genkai and clanes.

AS A SIDE NOTE I THINK THESE NUMBERS ARE CONSERVATIVE AS IT IS BASED ON 10,000 PLAYERS
