So first update



I apologize for the Sound of this next video i had to edit the video a little because it didn't capture the windows change.
but i got the health bar working. at least the interface between a input recognized as Damage and the bar registering it.



here we go finished the controls for Molding chakra using the PE and SE Bars.
my next trick will be make them represent the right amounts so it makes sense with the stats.

New information

I’m pleased to announce I have decided to try and build and code this system myself.

I have as of this morning almost finished the UI bars nessesary. And will start coding them soon.

I am just starting to learn c# and am not really all that  familiar with unity so the sprites are not very finished looking but if I can demonstrate the value of this system maybe I can get the assets we currently have. @Vreg??
Anyway I hope to have a sample video for you soon. My plan is to get the bars coded by February. Then I will start on the stat system.

When it comes to the stats and skills. I’m going to code for 3 chakra types skills, ninjutsu chakra yin chakra yang chakra, and 3 stamina stance skills, tiger, dragon, and monkey.

If someone knows how to animate these styles please let me know.  I’ll be using empty assets as place holders for a character avatar.

Currently I’m only able to devote about 10 hours a week to the project so I might not make the deadline.

Bio-chem- How chemistry effects living things.
if you deside to study Bio-chem you will be
given a chart for all chemisty items you know
then you must test them on animals to find out
there effects.Venems from the Zoology field are a
sub-set of Bio-chem and need to be tested like
chemistry items. however if the venem is used on you
it is automaticly filled in on the Bio-chem chart of
effects.If your intelagence is at a certan level
and you have X knowlage of the chemisty items or venom
items of a scientific field, you can discover effects
without testing.
IE Zoology 100
   INTELEGENCE 160(GENIUSE LEVEL)
   SPIDER VENOM IS A NUROTOXIN PARALIZING NERUSIGNALS
TO muscles.
So you discover schematics for poisons foods and medicines. But as you can see it's a lot of work.

Sence food is the sorce of stamina witch Should be the
sorce of PE for use in all Jutsu, It should be hard to
make your own food that is effective at restoring this
energy. especialy making food pills that make chakra stronger
and or increase the amount of chakra and stamina.
Medical ninja of corse would need to know all about this stuff.

Blacksmithing
Schematics for blacksmithing should be easily found/ looted/ or developed.
Mineralogy and botany are the only nessasary sciences needed.
To develop schematics for blacksmithing, you should have to use trial and error.
Let me give you an example of a blacksmith schematic: iron shuriken
Step 1
Ceramic mold shuriken schematic
Skill molding-1
Clay 10 units
Effects:reusable
Step 2
Iron shuriken schematic 
skills required:
Smelting skill 1
Items required
Ceramic mold shuriken(reusable)
10 iron ore
Effects: x damage on contact. Durability rating 10

Looks kinda basic right!!!

Now you can smelt steal

Now upgrade your molds

Effects reusable mold imbedded imprent of Fuinjutsu formulas-allowes user to infuse chakra nature.

Now you can make steal chakra shuriken

Effects: x damage durability 100+x chakra effect.

I had an updated idea on this.
In most sand box games the minerals, plants and other things are targeted when you come with in range and the. Identified for you as the items they drop.

In the Botany mineralogy and zoology
Academy of classes, What if you had to demonstrate as a player you know what the item drop looks like in its natural forms before your character could identify them in the game.

So let’s say in the  mineralogy class you want to be able to go out and collect Iron.
You would need to identify out of 4 pictures what Iron ore looks like in real life. Ones you get it right the teacher will give you the instructions on extracting and what you can do with the resource you have identified.
Same with animals, and plants.

The idea about the chemistry and bio-chem classes was good to. What if you needed to fill in a periodic table of the elements you have identified in the resources classes.

Everything you do adds 1 point to your characters intelligents stats.

I realize it’s bin over 3 years since this discussion but it was the first time fighting styles were discussed.
Stats need to be in the game! These can be trained to allow you to progress in fighting styles and jutsu. In this way jutsu and fighting styles can have set damage to make it easier to balance the game. 
Everyone can start with basic taijutsu and after training in mini games develop stats that unlock other styles such as Kung fu styles, tai chi, karate, etc.
With 3 physical stats-
Stamina (st)
Strength (stm)
Speed.    (Sp)
It is possible to have up to 7 different styles based on The way you choose to train these.
Some styles might require a even amount of all 3 to be maintained. (Example st3sp3 stm3)
Others might require more of 1 then the others.
(Example st7 stm1 sp1)
And others might require 2 to be higher then the third. (Example st 4,sp 4 stm 1)
In the examples everyone has 9 points to distribute among there stats but they would all yeld different types of styles.
However you still need to find an Npc or player to train you in the style you unlock. Once you unlock let’s say 2 or 3 styles you can even out your stats the way you want and still have access to the styles you trained.
But all of this is just game  mechanics  and has nothing to do with your skill at actually using these styles in a affective way. That’s still on you as a player.

Personally I think some styles should have spacific skills that make them more effective against other player types. For instance dunking fist might have a effect that lets it subvert the defense of kenjutsu and other taijutsu styles but genjutsus last longer on the player that uses this style.

Did those people bother to Check system requirements??
The game eats a lot of ram and processing power!!
My rig can barely Meet the minimum requirements but it runs it fine.

Anyway the game calls in to question the direction SLO should go in. It’s a arena mmorpg
Even thought the RPG elements are a week cop out of a real RPG system. But the game is designed to Grind out and unlock jutsu to use in the Arena, witch is exactly what a lot of people here wanted SLO to be.

I think it’s time to reconsider the MMORPG shinobi simulation idea.

It is not worth yet buying slo.
Check steam reviews , you wont be able to play multiplayer without lag , because players are the ones that host servers , has bugs and the "story" singleplayer mode isn't a story at all.
Even if you dont care about that and still want to try it , you can download the cracked version for free.
Are you talking about shinobi striker or SLO.
Shinobi striker is out and running smooth.
The story mode is week but the multiplayer match’s are smooth.

I’d love to get a early donators option on my chakra control thread. It was ever in-depth and eventually got most of the kinks worked out. But in the end it was too complicated for a arena/ammorpg game but now that shinobi striker beet us to the punch, maybe Vreg will reconsider the realistic mmorpg character Machanics.

I agree the fire breath jutsu’s direction should be mouse directional- however only at a 80 degree angle in front of your current front facing position, and your movement caped at 5.8 mph. This way the target fan still get out of range but It will feel like you have more control over the flame direction. But they need to fix the targeting and look vertical before that.

We need to talk about shinobi striker as a game type and it’s effect it has moving forward with SLO! As a arena action game it’s brilliant! It made all the right choices in character customizing and balanced combat while I would have liked to see more accessible cosmetic customization.
However we need to avoid most of this stuff in SLO. SLO will never compete with shinobi striker as an arena action game. So we need to scrap the ELO ranking idea and just focus on the open world RPG elements of the game.
This is what shinobi striker is lacking In.
There is a master trainer system in place to unlock new jutsu and stuff but it’s not a open world to play in.
And frankly the trainer system is kinda week in shinobi striker.

SLO has the opportunity to forge new ground with a realistic experience based chakra system.
Something no other game has ever done.

Where levels mean absolutely nothing except to rate the difficulty and chakra consumption of Jutsu.

With a crafting system that rivals black desert online, or any other MMORPG.

With a world of contractable animals that can be played as races or be summoned as AI support.

With player driven missions and instances boss fights requiring teamwork and tactical choices.

Because one thing is certain, SLO as an aarpg Can not compete  with shinobi striker. They have done that already and it’s good and will only get better with new updates of jutsu and missions.

Who said you can’t master every weapon? You can balance it by making jutsu and weapons amune to 1 spacific tree making full reliance on any one tree a gamble.

Can you deal with 95% of what ever comes your way if you focus only on bukijutsu! Sure!!
But you run the risk of running in to that 5%of people like gaura in the anime that are effectively amune to it.

This works the other way as well with equipment like samahada sharkskin.

Tajiutsu that observe chakra and telapotatuon jutsu to keep players in close combat.

Genjutsu that sap a character’s chakra and stun there movement

These effects help balance the game. And if you choose to specialize in something you’ll have to come up with a strategy to deal with the problematic effects to your type.
