War mechanics
« on: August 26, 2015, 02:12:15 »
OK so Ive been thinking about between how war between villages would work, I noticed that this question wasn't answered in the FAQ and no one posted a thread about it yet, But if their was a post and i didn't see it,Sorry about that :).

OK well first a village would need to wage war on another, Ill give 2 examples

1. They straight up declare war

2. the attacking village ambushes another and BOOM theirs your war.

Now that the 2 villages are in a state of war, The area inside and around the village and All passage ways and forests connecting the villages should become perma death zones. Anyone who is to die in this war will as always get sent back to the character creation screen, If a character  was to be created when a village is in war with another, Well the kage would have to decide what to do with their genin. Villages would of course have their own rules that a shinobi must follow in times of war such as :1. Do not abandon the mission and 2.If you are to abandon your mission you will be put to death.(Just of the top of my head i know they are horrible examples lol). Now to declare a winner in this war a village must either 1. Must surrender 2.Call a truce or 3.(the most exciting option) Take out the whole village.

Aftermath: Now that the war is over, The village needs to be rebuilt right? So i started a thread asking this question ill just put what the reply's said.

1.
It will stay like that, and most probably be abandoned. It's the SLO world, it's not ment to be fair
-   StrawHatSeyi

2.I agree, but what if a kage doesn't want to abandon his village. I think that if their is no money at all then they should abandon but if they choose not to i think they should borrow money from their ally vill.age or something of that sort
-yours truly

3.
If the Kage has no money or no allies, and doesn't want to abandon his/hers village, then he will have to figure out a way. Wether that's begging other villages or stealing money. It's the Kages problem
-StrawHatSeyi

4.Tbh,a village won't be left abandoned. If it got bad and the Kage couldn't repair the village it could just get reset. If it was left "abandoned" we'd be left with 2 villages that rival each other with huge population because the other ones got abandoned.
A village could get something like a yearly rank title.
So, "4 Years with no reset" would be like <<Survived ****>> but maybe something better.. 8 years could be <<Unbeatable ****>> as 8 *s would become too long.. Maybe they go from bronze to silver but yeah.. The village should be reset if it goes bankrupt and destroyed. Just abandoning it would be pointless.. All that concept art and work the devs put in just to be left abandoned because players became shit Kages lol.

This is all just of the top of my head so i just posted it before i forget,So write your thoughts down below :)

Seems good to me, but what if the two villages are too far part?

Then the direct path leading to the villages would of course become perma death zones and the entire village area would also become perma death zones.

Sounds good enough in theory, so far anyway. As for the "Third Option" for victory, how about instead of massacring the entire village, kill off anyone who fights back until the entire--remaining--population surrender. This could help achieve some pretty impressive spy-tactics, like getting in agents who convince besieged inhabitants to surrender and open the gates, letting in the enemy soldiers to slay those that still try to fight back.

That sounds very good, But again-What if the remaining villagers do not want to surrender? thats why i put in the 3rd option but your idea is definitely something i should have put in.

I did phrase it as, "...kill off anyone who fights back until the--remaining--population surrender...", and thanks for considering it.
