Speed after taking off weights
« on: May 15, 2015, 17:47:49 »
"Q: Will the speed limit be removed if one trains with weights?
A: The speed limit will be increased, but it will not go above inhumane speeds no matter what."

This was on the QnA. I think after wearing the leg weights after a very VERY long time, should allow you to gain inhumane speeds for a short period of time (30 secs to 1 min) For example

To get this speed, you should at least have the weights on for 2 weeks in real life time

It would be pointless unless you have to make a delivery or maybe run from an impossible fight for example, a dragon as huge as 30 skyscrapers stacked on top of each other vs. a level 1 scrub. My point being it wouldn't do you any good in battle as you wouldn't be able to control it....

I mean I think it would be cool for tai users to have inhumane speed but I dont know how realistic V is keeping the game.

@Shivraj Well, i understand your point. But obviously if you are a skilled taijutsu user, you could be able to use this in battle

inb4 everyone wears weights for their whole time in-game and the moment they get into a tiny bit of trouble they take off their weights and become "badass" which is less badass because everyone will be doing this.

I don't support this idea. This will essentially be a cool-down perk, not a training method.
Taking your weights off in real life or in naruto wouldn't make you faster than the norm, it would make you faster than you are with weights on.

No , this shouldn't be a cool-down perk.
I mean with weights you go slower and lose stamina quicker , but that will make you faster and increase your stamina.

This makes sense irl since your feet (that is , if the weights are on your feet) get stronger by having extra weight to carry.
That's why people go to lift weights , be it with their hands or feet.
Basically this is training.

I like your idea, as you said, it actually makes sense that an expert in tai will be able to have inhuman speed after doing what you've said.
But you don't really want to train 2 whole weeks or 3 weeks (if you're not so active) and then have an inhuman speed only for 1 minute.

So i think if you actually train for 2 weeks in real time, after maxing out the "human" speed (which will more likely be 70km/h), you gain a skill, a skill which will have a pretty long cool down, that you decide when to use it. This skill does give you inhuman speed for a short time period.
However if you don't use the leg weights at least for 5 hours a week the skill is disable.

I had to make an input.- The limit of human perception: There is no reason to show more frames per second than the viewer can perceive. The exact limit of human motion perception is still up for scientific debate, but it is generally agreed that there is an upper threshold after which people can’t appreciate the difference.

If you all wish to have inhumane speed, you will definitely not get that. Because, you will not be able to perceive it of course. It goes to say without implication that:
  • You will not be able to control it
  • You will not perceive it correctly.

Why does everybody like this to be a skill or perk with a cooldown.
This should be training , the more you keep the more your speed increases.
It wouldn't be realistic if it was a skill.
I mean , look at Rock Lee. When he took off his weights while fighting Gaara , he didn't get a buff but since his legs were stronger , he could run faster.
Someone might say , that he got super fast when he took off his weights , so this should be implemented as a skill , but It shouldn't as he just was depleting his stamina faster.
In the battle with Shira he also took off his weights , but he didn't get as fast as when he fought with Gaara , he moved normally , just his stamina wasn't decreasing so rapidly.

Sooo , this should be training , and not a skill or perk with a cooldown.
