Personally, I feel it would be simpler just to move your character around when you dodge--at close range that is, the regular dodge should still be kept for evading WIDE jutsu/weapon attacks, as there's really no other way to get out of those. It's in the same league as an "automatic kunai deflect-skill"; which is to say that it seems a bit cheap, and--as you guys said, might be spammed depending on how it's used. If you want your character to dodge at close range, move them around a bit. Don't have them rely solely on special abilities and keys in order to fight, this isn't supposed to be a WoW clone...and for good reason.
