I do not like the idea of automatic hp regen, unless you gain some back every hour or so. If someone with low hp encloses theirself with an earth dome to regen, their opponent will be full hp by then. It will drag out fights imo. People will base their style off of running when they need regen, similar to the way chakra works now. Defeating your opponent will increase in difficulty if they just run off when you are close to killing them. Fights could never end unless they stick around long enough to die, which no one will do on purpose.
A timer on hp regen such as every 20 min you gain 10% is better. No constant hp regen please! I pvp in ESO, where you do have constant hp regen, and it does take away from the pvp when you get defeated because the opponent regenerated just enough hp to take your attack before you did. In a game like this where landing hits is difficult, constant hp regen is a bad idea.
I do not know if you plan to be a medic ninja dati, but this kind of mechanic would make it a game of whose regen is faster, rather than skill in avoiding or landing attacks.
If someone chooses to specialize in medical ninjutsu ( tho you can learn any technique you have the seals and resources for atm ) They will be able to heal hp rapidly...I envision ppl using this with spammed aoes to kill opponents while keeping hp intact. If there is constant hp regen, who needs a medic ninja at all? You can run until you regenerate.
