It won't cause you'd just get a clan based on that village. Who wouldn't want a village all for yourself?

The thing is, people like to be original.
If there is a village with no one there people will want to be the first settlers and become the rulers of the new age. The village will grow with hipsters who want to be different to everyone else until it is as big as a normal village. Once it has grown to that size people will probably stop joining as quickly.
If it got destroyed, it would lose members and the cycle would repeat

Yea especially if it gets really big the village would be less likely to be completely destroyed to the point that people would leave it
