Movement System?

After looking through the FAQ I failed to notice anything fleshing out the movement system, so I have a few questions:

‣Will we be able to jump across tree branches, like in the manga?

‣Will it be more complicated than wasd?

If I think of other questions I'll make sure to post them

I think we will be able to jump across tree branches, it would fit the SLO theme ofc.
And if it does get implemented i think it'll have different controls than just wasd.

Don't take my word for it though ^^


EDIT: maybe we won't be able to jump from tree branch to tree branch but just walking on them with Chakra Enhanced Strength.

Jumping into trees is already possible. Jumping from tree to tree would just be a matter of landing on the right branch...which is probably not going to be easy at first. In the manga/anime they never miss a jump but that's not realistic. It's not like there's going to be a tree highway to run along if that's what you're hoping for.  You will be able to run on walls and water though and you'll be able to control your jumps with chakra (chakra-infused movements) so really the sky is the limit if you're good enough (pun only half intended).

Movement controls are still being debated and will likely be redone a a few more times before release. It's definitely not going to be simple though. You have regular movement, dynamic speed control, aiming mode, weapon mode (kenjutsu and others), ninjutsu mode, etc...

Nothing is finite yet but expect there to be a huge amount of control given to the players letting you guys do a lot of cool stuff.

It's very likely.

The current trees are indeed very dense, somewhat small and thus hard to jump from/on a specific branch. However you are still able to jump on them.

Besides that there are like... 3 trees in the arena? (one tree and more like 2 small bushes) and one tree near the Kage House. Unless you defy the laws of in-game physics, you'll be able to jump from the tree in the arena to the one near the Kage House :PPP

When the game will develop further and forests have been added you'll most likely see more variety in trees allowing for better tree-to-tree movement. So I wouldn't worry about that not being a thing in the future releases
